TRV Online Canada - Timeline - 2014

No Kalpesh, I didn't get my passport yet. They received it on Jan 13. So, I guess they will take this week to process and I am hoping to get it next week. I have travel planned 30 Jan.

Can someone please tell me how to apply for a temporary resident visa? I am on a post graduate work permit and plan to travel to my home country in April. I can't seem to find my way on how to apply. Have they changed the system? Can you only send your passport if CIC requests for it to stamp the visa? What is the link to send in an application from Canada?

Do you have a MyCIC account? You can start your online application through that.

You will be filling in the questionnaire online as part of that process. Make sure to answer all questions correctly and in the end it will tell you what things (e.g. TRV) you are eligible to apply for and redirect you.

I would however recommend offline application from within Canada because at the moment at least it is much faster. They are processing applications in 4 days and right now the ones received on/by Jan 9th.

Hi Vindeep,

we both travelling in d same boat. Dont know whats going on. travelling on 29th jan and not a single news for passport. worried so much.

I think i might have to cancel my bookings. whenever your return courier activated, pls post here so i know as they got my passport on next day jan 14th

I applied online on Dec 15 and got PP request on Jan 8.

I see on the CIC page that only people with Student or Work permits can apply for TRV's from within Canada.

My brother is here on a Visitor Record only, and his TRV has expired. I'd like him to go to my wedding in Mexico and come back to Canada after, but without a TRV this will be an issue.

How do I renew his TRV without having him return back to Brazil to do so?

Type of WP doesn't matter. It says if you are employed, then submit an employment letter.
