You never know the real outcome as once your background checks will be completed, they will re-evaluate your application again. You will get the answer in a month timr If they really wants to reject your request but as they considered your application for processing so you never know how much time and what end result might come. Yes they may asks you for additional documents too.

Even though there is no update with bgc but your application is in BgC as per our experiences and seniors discussions on this forum.
Ohhh.. i thought bgc is the last stage. I thought they send the file for bgc after evaluating every document of file. Now i got it that they re evaluate the file after bgc clearance. Yes, I understand that they can ask for additional documents.
There are many ways to find out actually. I called the IRCC call center and they said my application is in BC check. My representative also found out the exact date my application went into security check. I wouldn't be too worried. It might be that your application is undergoing checks. You should find out! If you have a friend in Canada that can call the IRCC call center ask them to do it.
My application said BC not applicable but then I found that it was not updated yet. I don't know why they are doing security checks.. Maybe i look like a terrorist to them lol
They evaluate the file before BGC and then if the BGC shows something odd, they may ask for documents to clarify. The eligibility of your application is reviewed before not after. The eligibility of my application passed and only after that did they start security check. It wouldn't make sense for them to take the time and effort to do any type of BGC if the application itself is not eligible.
There are some final checks and evaluations after BGc, i know some members on this forum out of 1 was refused after 110 days.

if u submitted ur application by mail, its 118 days.
So sit back and relax (even though its very hard for me) and be patient.

This is not the case for all applications. Some are processed super fast as you can see on this Forum. I am not sure where they get those numbers from. I think it doesn't necessarily apply to each individual application.
True, but the application is not even in background check yet. I think it will take more time. It says BC is not applicable.

I applied visitor visa for my parent from Chennai on Nov 20th still waiting for approval.
We had a surprise they asked for medical examination after 2-3 weeks of submission we submitted the medical results to the CIC on Dec 20th, since then no response only long wait, already 55 days.
anybody had this experience? or got approved who submitted in Nov 2017?

Hey guys, my visitor visa (applied online on 19-Nov) was refused with the reason "Purpose of Visit" not satisfactory. I'm planning to apply for the 2nd time now by providing further explanations.
Do you guys recommend a specific method of application? Should i do an online application again or should i do a paper application this time?
Any recommendations? (I'm really not sure if one method of application is better than the other).

Well it’s never 100% If ur worried coz ur application has passed 55 days talking thn just sit back and relax this is called waiting game coz my application has passed 250days. But if they wanted to refused max 1month and you’ll receive a love letter from the immigration office. Once you’re application is in BG this means you’re application is considered and will be approved subject to BG passed.
