My husband and I are living in Canada for more than two years and applied for PR under the CEC category. Unfortunately, our PR got rejected, and we don't have TRV. But as we have a work permit valid till April 2022, we can continue living and working in Canada. Meanwhile, we are planning to apply for PR again.

But due to some family issues, I had to travel to India. But as we don't have TRV, I can't go back. Can I still apply for TRV from India as I have a valid work permit till Apr 2022? Or will they also cancel my Work permit if I apply for TRV? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Please don’t multi post. Yes you can apply for a TRV in India. Processing is about 7 months so you may not get a TRV before your work permit expires. Are you both in India now?

So apply for the TRV. It may or may not be approved because your work permit expires in 6 months and processing for TRV may exceed it.
Ok thanks alot. But if I don’t get TRV can my husband still apply for PR from canada ? He being primary applicant who is inland and me being outland ? Will this inland and outland situation will have impact on PR application?

No impact. If he applies, you will have to wait until you have PR to enter the country if you don’t have work permit or TRV. That may take a long time.

Yes, you can apply for a TRV and it can get approved too.
I applied for TRV on September 14th-2021 and got approval on October 4th. I had applied TRV on the basis on my WP, which is valid only till 25th Dec 2021.
