TRV for visitor visa from within Canada

Hello,

I have a visitor visa valid till 30th June 2020. My father is currently employed in Toronto and has a valid work permit till 30th June 2020. We intend to travel to Europe for a short holiday during december break. On applying through CIC website, it mentions IMM5708 form to be filled which is essentially extension or restoration of my visitor visa. I need a TRV on my passport to re-enter Canada for which i need to fill a IMM5257 form which i have done multiple times in the past to re-enter Canada.

Kindly advise as to the correct process to obtain a TRV.

You said you have a TRV until June 2020 so I am confused.

Were you able to get some help . I am stuck in the same situation and don’t know what to do . Please help if you know what to do now . Appreciate any help .
