I am applying through IRCC Portal but am not confident about which portal should I use. I think this is a fundamental question for all new applicants who have not applied yet and they will keep on asking. A couple of group members got their PPR recently. I have asked the same question and waiting for the answer.

Additionally, I have applied for my spouse's PR and received a letter from CIC congratulating that I meet the requirement to sponsor and informed that my undertaking is an unconditional promise of support. any thought?

So it means you got Sponsorship Approval, that's perfect. ideally, its best to wait for AOR and attach that with your TRV application. I'd also attach SA. And yes, i will apply through the new IRCC portal - and not the old one. I rely more on those computers than the cic officers.

To all recent/potential TRV applicants - did you apply through GCKey portal or through new IRCC portal?

The popular youtube vlogger Hit&Submit - suggests New IRCC portal is looked by computer AI, rejection rates are higher.
While the older portal GCKey - has a higher rejection rate cuz its looked human officer.

My take on this is we know that CIC human officers, for years and years, take lot of time, make lots of errors and are hardly human - (rarely make a decision based on compassionate basis). So why not to go for AI based new IRCC Portal.

Did you apply through GC Key? Did you get TRV?

AI had been in use before. The conditions for approval were different for spouses before the announcement so visa agents were doing their job correctly if they refused spouses who applied for TRVs who clearly weren’t just trying just visit. The ministers announcement means than more spouses will be approved for TRV while waiting to be sponsored. We have yet to see who will be approved and who will be denied. If your application takes more than a few weeks it is likely being processed by a person not AI. Applications being processed by AI are processed very quickly

That's what happened to me back in 2021. There was a program for reunification of fiancées during COVID. I applied for my back then fiancee for her to join me , and there was no enough evidence that she will go back to Morocco. So why did they do this sort of application when they were going to process it like a tourist visa. I don't get it. The reunification is for Already married spouses to join their family and make it easy, but if it goes back to the TRV file, then there's no point in wasting time and applying again. Honestly there's no enough evidence to show that they will process it faster. If it falls back to the case processing office in a particular country, then it goes back to the same pile, and you will keep on waiting

It’s a new program we have yet to see what will be the balance between approval for family reunification and also being cautious if there are red flags when it comes to the relationship or minimal proof of relationship.

Processing can take up to a few months and that is normal. Not having any change in 5 days is very normal during TRV processing.

It's normal. We applied June 5 and still waiting on BG and eligibility process. Getting it done quickly or within 30 days is not guaranteed

The stated processing time of 30 days is more of a goal not a guarantee. it is not unusual for applications to take up to a few months. unfortunately you will just need to be patient.
