I sent my TRV paper application for myself and my family to Ottawa and they received it on June 5th. Processing started on June 10th. So far no news for over 7 weeks. I contacted the MP. The assistant called them and informed me that it is delayed because of the background checks. I had to cancel flight tickets for 3 which cost me $1100 but I still have to fly back home for emergency. We don't even have our passports and to get them back the applications will be cancelled and started allover. I don'y know when will this insane suffering ends.

Anyone in the same situation?

I hope the suffering ends soon and you get ur visas

well i applied for my trv on 22nd of june through my work permit and still havent heard back....i sent atleast 5 emails and called them a number of times and no reply. i have to leave on the 25th for a family emergency and now i dont think i can go. so frustrating.

Heres our timeline for TRV study permit for my child and Open work permit for myself..

Submitted application online: July 18, 2014
Acknowledgement of application: July 21, 2014
Med examination request: July 23,2014
Med examination done: Aug. 4, 2014

Still waiting for our medical report result or the PPR passport request

My heart is filled with so much hope and excitement to be reunited with my husband again at Canada

Yes, you can but you have to talk to Canadian Embassy in India before leaving Canada. Secondly, you have to have confirmation letter from CPC-Ottawa that you can do that. I had the same situation I applied my application in Canada but I had to travel to UK and I stamped my visa in UK.
