how many email notification of update did you get so far? I know sometimes ppl get 3 4 and soon receive their request within couple of days. you might be close

I got 2 and the last one was on May 8
That's a long time ago
yea probably because I got 3 notifications for my study permit and as soon as I get the third one, it was approved
Let's hope it will be soon

I think my case is more complicated and im really not expecting anything now
I applied my study permit the day before my visa
now my study permit is updated
but the study permit i used to apply for visa is out of date now
i asked the agent if that is gonna be a problem. she said no.
but im still very worried.
and the study permit i used to apply for visa is expiring the end of Sep 2014
the whole thing is just ... so messed up ughhhh

I get u..well if they atleast give you a response, u can reapply with your new permit.. I m worried about mine cause I came here as a student and I had some complications which I got it cleared. now I am not sure if it will affect my application. will have to wait

well. I am sure they have access to all the permits issued to u. they might just to have verify and that's taking time.

I recieved 5 notifications

Filed on February 9th
Notif 1: Feb 10th
Notif 2: Feb 11
Notif 3: Feb 18
Notif 4: Feb 20
Notif 5: Mar 7

Passport Request March 14th.

As you can see you case is common. Yes you know people that got it sooner, I know lots of people who got it much more later.

I really can't think of a possible reason for delay

I can think of many, for example you wrote something wrong in the application that made them want to recheck and go into a whole new different queue. Also a lot of visa requests coming due to the summer season (all the grads are going to leave for the next months). And so on.

An advice. Stop calling them, sending emails, etc. They are understaffed, with lots of applications and can't give you special treatment just because you are unpatient. Understand that the more time they spend answering you, the less time they have to process applications.

Try to relax and enjoy the weather. It is nice out there.
