TRV Application refused, need advice

Hello,
I submitted my application June 6th and have not heard a word back, I don't expect to but it is unsettling because I proposed to be there for July 20th until September 17th.

If they see that I wished to be there July 20th and don't approve me on time, will they just reject my application or will they give me the option to change my arrival date?

Wow, bad news. My application was refused today. Despite being a Student, their reasoning was me being unemployed. Are students expected to have jobs?

They say you need to be employed so that you get back to your country after your visit. But the thing is, anybody can find a job anywhere in the world, but you can not get back your education somewhere else. What is this? Is there anything that I can do now? Already sent an enquiry asking them to reconsider, if that'll do anything.

Two months is a pretty long visit.

I think the real issue is that CIC has concerns you have plans to stay in Canada long term. Were you visiting immediate family members? If not, CIC may have also suspected you were coming to visit a girlfriend / boyfriend and once again, have plans to remain in Canada long term.

In your application, did you include proof that you are enrolled in school for next year and have already paid your tuition?

Sending a letter won't get the decision changed. However you can certainly try applying again if you have additional information to provide that shows you have strong ties to your home country and have no plans on remaining in Canada long term.

I understand their concerns, but how could they take employment into account for a student? I'll probably try once again, could you then answer the question in my first post? Should I cancel my ticket incase I don't get an answer until then?

As I said there is no such thing as "you are unemployed" kind of argument. CIC never stated that you being unemployed was an issue.

When it says "your current employment situation" it can mean many things (example short term contract), but basically what they are saying is you failed to provide any strong ties to your country (in fact CIC tried to find an argument to help you get the visa and looked into your employment situation even though you are a student as all the other attempts to find strong ties failed).

Do you rent an appartment? Do you own any property yourself? Can you show any assets (e.g. bank account)? That's the kind of stuff they're looking for...
