Hi all,

I am thinking to go to canada late january but the cold weather worries me a lot,i am going there alone first,so i would like ur ideas if its a good idea to go to canada at this time or put it off till the summer, especially that i live in middle east where the weather is worm.....

Secondly, i landed in toronto last may,and been away since then would that have any problems at my pr status ......is there any proof of fund required to show at the airport for my second entry.

Thanks all

You don't have to show any proof of funds again.
Winter months have low hiring and life is difficult. I will recommend to land in last week of March.

Yes its better to arrive in March-April. Today its -2 which feels like -8 and its going get worse during Xmas. We arrived in JAN'13 from Dubai and had a an extremely tough time moving around to complete errands.

thanks a lot explorer...last of march is pretty reasonable.

Most of companies start hiring in April, so end of March is a good time to land. Survival jobs are easily available. It is not too much cold although it can show even upto end of April in Toronto.

Nobody knows when companies hire, they hire whenever they need someone.
Don't worry about the job yet.

If you gonna come in January, just check the weather online and dress accordingly.

For PR status, you must live in Canada for 2 years in the 5 yr period, from date of landing.

Agree, i did not observe a specific pattern when it comes to job postings/hiring....

Do u have ur PR card with u ?

Jobs are not depend upon weather. Mindin summer they got much more job but again lot more applicant too. As most of people land in summer, students , vaccations etc.

Cold : yes it is -26 in calgary. Toronto bit warmer . But that just part of life here.

It will be little bit hard for u for stArting week but its much better then 50* of middle east.

Probably he was referring to "Canadian" bank job postings/hiring. Cold: only -2 in Vancouver; snow in the mountains.
