Travelling outside of Cananda (other than US) on Visitor Record

My mother's supervisa expired and we applied for extension. We received a visitor record document which expires on Jan 2017. The document states at the end that "this does not authorize re-entry" . If she travels outside of Canada to a country other than US, would she be able to re-enter Canada, that is before the expiration of her visitor record? Any other consequences that could be faced?

Thanks for reading, please help if you can.

Once you travel outside of Canada the extension becomes void. She will be reasssessed on re-entry.

Thank you for your reply Jalex23. Appreciate it.

My mother entered Canada on SuperVisa in 2014 and we got her extension last year till Jan 2017. Early this year we applied for her immigration within Canada and her application has been accepted for further processing. I would appreciate if you could please advise on the following three questions:

1. Once her extension (visitor record) expires in Jan 2017, should I apply for another extension or not required since her immigration application has been accepted and she will be on an implied status till she gets her immigration approved whatever time it takes?

2. If my mother will be under implied status after Jan 2017, will she be able to travel outside Canada (other than US) and re-enter? Or before her extension expires and now that her immigration application is in process, can she travel outside Canada (other than US) and re-enter?

3. In order for her to travel outside Canada and re-enter Canada, should I be applying for her new SuperVisa within Canada?

Thank you again for your help.

Supervisa needs to be processed outland.

1. This really depends on which immigration program your mother applied for. If her immigration has been accepted, could you please disclose which program she used.
2. To my understanding; she will need TRV to re-enter Canada. The Visitor Record is only a valid document to remain legally in Canada.
3. Again, you need to apply for TRV within Canada, as the other member mentioned supervise is from outside Canada.

Thanks for your reply.

The program is to sponsor your parent(s) or grandparent(s) (PGP) under the Family Class. We received a letter from CIC saying that her application has been accepted under the intake cap for 2016.

Thanks.

Implied status ONLY applies for temporary resident status.

A PR, regardless its class, is NOT a temporary resident status, therefore implied status does not apply.

So that means that I will have to apply for her visa extension before it expires on Jan 2017 regardless if her immigration application has been accepted by CIC and if she ever leaves Canada for a visit anywhere, she will not be re-entered back in Canada. I think I read somewhere that supervisa can also be applied within Canada..any comments?
