Hi
I am a PR in Canada and I have dui ( summary offence) from 2020. I need to travel outside Canada to see my family and was wondering if i can travel and come back without any issues?

I suspect that you very well may have an issue when returning to Canada, since a DUI is now considered a serious crime in Canada (per Bill C-46). Technically, you are now inadmissible to Canada.

DUI is a serious offense if it is an prosecuted as indictable offense because the maximum jail time is 10 years. If it is prosecuted as a summary offense it is not a serious offense as the jail time is a maximum of 2 years.

Hi,
I must correct my last response regarding the DUI impact. Even summary prosecutions are deemed to be indictable after 2018 so if he is convicted he may be inadmissible, but I do not think before conviction he will be inadmissible.
