Travelling for a week with spouse (inland applicant) out of Canada?

So I know there is always a risk.

She has a student and work permit. Process is 6 months in. Her parents are coming to visit to Canada and we are thinking of going to Cuba for a week.

We would be travelling together and it would only be 7 days.

Should we do it? If we do, should we mention at the airport that we are married and going through this process? or just if we are asked?

Any general advice would be appreciated.

General advice is up to you to leave but there is no guarantee on re entry. You did mention she has permits but still this might not be enough sometimes.

I saw in the forum some people mentioned you may be able to return if you have a multipe entry visa. Also saying you are going through the process doesnt mean anything unless you have the proof of the COPR letter to show the officers.

Thats why most people wait till they receive that letter before travelling.

Decide wisely. I personally would not go. CBSA can be so anal...talking from experiences.

Having been through the process, I wouldn't risk it.
You never know what mood the officer will be in. The only people guaranteed entry are PR's and citizens. In my opinion, it isn't worth the risk. There's lots of nice places to see in Canada

Like Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, BC, Prince Edward Island and Bay of Fundy (New Brunswick). These are all on my list.

With a study/work permit, and showing proof of the PR app in progress (like AOR, fee payment, etc), chances are incredibly slim CBSA would give her trouble upon re-entry to Canada. As long as she is visa-exempt or has multi-entry travel visa to board the plane back, overall risk would be small.

Up to you whether to take the risk or not.
