I just received my COPR & am deciding on whether to land this weekend or in September when I go back to NJ to visit my family. My husband wants to also book a vacation to DR in October and I know the PR card will not be in on time yet. Can I still travel back into Canada without my PR card if I am from a visa exempt country? Anyone have any experience with this because there isn't enough time to get a travel document!

Yes you can travel back to canada if you have visa exempt passport and COPR.

Yes, you can return to Canada on the strength of your visa-exempt passport as if you were a visitor. Don't mention your PR status to the airline, as they can refuse to board you without a valid PR card. You don't need to take your COPR.

Hubbie and i flew to Cuba from Canada and he has visitors status . Had no problems.

This point cannot be over-emphasized. Do NOT mention it to the airlines, just travel as a visitor as far as they're concerned.
