Thanks canuk _in _UK for your advice. I went to our local customs office and spoke to an agent in person and they said exactly what you said!
I'm just going to give it a go getting on the plane and if they don't il just have to buy a ticket to Seattle.
Received an email saying that I can't get urgent processing of my PR card.
What a bunch of BS all this is!!

Really appreciate everyone's comments and advice!

You'll be fine. Many, many people have done exactly this before you.

Don't inform the airline of your PR status, as they may refuse to board you without proof. To them, you are travelling to Canada as a visitor on the strength of your visa-exempt passport.

You will have no issues with CBSA when you enter.

Does it matter to the CBSA which country you have come from even with a visa-exempt passport when re-entering?

I understand if you fly back home to your home country and then come back into Canada that shows that you went back to see family friends etc

But what if its from a Vacation Destination, Will they ask something like.. why did you travel there knowing you might not be able to come back with a PR card yet etc??

Hi SBassett,

Can I ask if you were able to enter Mexico with just stamped PR visa on your passport and not the actual PR card? On the Mexico Embassy in Canada website, it states that you have to show your PR card. I am in a similar situation where I will not have enough time to receive my physical PR card before my trip to Mexico.

Thanks!

OP's query was about returning to Canada, not entering Mexico. OP is Australian and therefore doesn't require anything beyond their passport to enter Mexico.

If you don't expect your PR card to arrive in time, then you need to apply for a visa.

But then do you still need to apply for a VISA/TRV if you are Visa exempt?

I was piggybacking off of OP's query as I am in a similar situation. From what I am reading on the Mexico Embassy in Canada's website is that if you have a valid U.S visa, you will not need a visa for Mexico regardless of which passport you carry. I have contacted the embassy and hope to hear from them soon.

Note that zainy's query and my response was in regards to entering Mexico and had nothing to do with entering Canada.
