Hi,
I used to work at Canada. I came to India on January 2021 resigning my job, and hoping to find a new one after arriving to Canada. I am now stuck in India as they introduced the $2000 hotel quarantine rule, only allowing people with job offer letter.
Please update me if there is any change in the current travel restrictions or please share the experience of anyone who travelled in recent 10 days.

To be fair nobody is paying close to $2000 for the hotels (even the better hotels)

I just read the quarantine plan on the official website - There it is mentioned that
Flying into Canada – your quarantine period includes a mandatory 3 night pre-paid booking at a government-authorized hotel at your own cost.
The price of such hotels start from 100/120 CAD per night so around 360 CAD for 3 nights.

However it is also mentioned that Federal quarantine applies for travelers entering Canada. If you can enter Canada and you have no symptoms, you must quarantine for a minimum of 14 days.

So it looks like one is supposed to be quarantined for 14 days but out of those only 3 nights are to be in a hotel!
Please correct me if my understanding is flawed here.

you have to spend 3 nights in a hotel awaiting 2nd negative covid test then must quarantine somewhere else (such as an apartment or wherever else you choose) for the remaining days until you have been in quarantine for 14 days. Wherever you stay has to be registered on the ArriveCan app.

you need a job to be going to otherwise it is non-essential travel

I have post graduation open work permit. So I want to know can we enter Canada without job offer in hand?

You do the mandatory 3 day hotel quarantine and then 11 home quarantine.

If you have a job offer or can prove you normally live in Canada (rent you have been paying, utilities paid, car loans etc.), you can enter.

But I can find job and I've people who can refer me. I can get job in less than a month.

So get the job offer letter with employer saying you will have the job after quarantine. Then you can enter. Or show that you normally live in Canada so show that you have been paying rent on a place, utility bills etc.

Don’t believe any quarantine hotels are charging as low as 100/120. Most people are paying around 1K plus or minus a bit for the 3 days.

I checked the price online. It was showing me 120 CAD per night for 2 person 1 room.
