Hi, I've applied for inland spouse sponsorship. My question is once I get my AIP, is it possible to get a visitor visa to the US. Is it possible to travel outside Canada?
Good question. MY partner just got the AIP and his grandmother (who raised him like a son is ill) and we are wondering if it is even possible to travel. What would we have to do, ask permission to whom? Any ideas?
Hey I just got some info. Spoke to call centre agent. Once u get ur AIP and ur work permit, u r eligible to apply for a visitor visa to anywhere outside Canada.... and if u get that then you can travel outside Canada. Hope this helps.

You should note that if you require a visitor visa (TRV) to enter Canada, you will probably find it almost impossible to get one from an overseas office, whether you have AIP or not.
PMM, why do you say that? I applied for a new visa, to visit my husband, and am waiting for their answer. I still don't have the letter from Mississauga, but decided to try it anyways.

Sure she could, but never mentioned it her original post, it doesn't matter how she does it, if she needs a TRV, she has to get outside Canada. Some offices will refuse, because the intention is not to go to Canada as a visitor, but to remain permanently.
