Travel/ Medical insurance from India

Hello all,

I am landing in BC very soon and looking for an insurance plan for my travel as well as initial 3 months waiting period. Can anyone suggest an insurance company/ plan from India? Is it advisable to get insured from an Indian insurance company?

I tried looking for some option at tugo.com and other Canada based insurance providers but they don't cover other expenses like baggage loss, etc.

Please give your valuable suggestions.

Thanks for the reply. I talked to HDFC Ergo but they don't give insurance for 3 month period. They said that travel insurance from India will be maximum of 2 months.

Do you have any info on that? Have you planned your insurance? Could you please give me more details on it?

It's always better to buy insurance in Canada. In the unfortunate event of applying for claim, the process would be smoother if you have to deal with Canadian entity.
