No, do not give out misinformation. You are required to provide all passports and travel documents that cover your eligibility period. Anything in these docs that is not in English or French should be translated.

They are not asking for stamps that cover the eligibility period...
if a stamp has the date in Arabic only then translate it.

  • a certified copy of the original document."
I think this is not required if it is a certified translator. And if you want this then consult local legal office for help.
Again, the translator should certify the copy that he/she received and stamp it...most translators do this already

If the country name in the entry exit stamp is in English as well as Chinese, the dates are in regular numbers but the port of entry/exit is in Chinese do we still need translations? Also, the words Entry/Exit are in Chinese but they also show arrows of entry (Inward arrow for entry and Outward arrow for exit). Do we need translations for that as well?

does one always get an auto reply something when responding to IRCC's request email? I replied to their email with my passport scans but I havent got any kind of auto reply. I thought that comes in by default.

Anyway, squeezing the whole thing within 5MB proved to be an uphill task. I had to do many iterations -quite possibly due to lots of pages and many required translation.

Now I wait.

Same. No response, and fitting 2 passports plus translation into 5MB took longer than the scanning itself!

I dont think so it will be required as long is info is mentioned in English as well.

When did you email? Do you suggest we hang tight or send a follow up email in some days on this? Didnt they put a timeline to this ? we deserve to know if its with them or not within 30 days. isnt it?

the quality of the pages went really bad from some 30MB to 5MB.Twice after compressing the file i was at 5.2/5.3 MB and I was about to give up.

I dont even know how useful or readable would it be for them. plus some pages had a cluster of stamps one above the other and all in Arabic. we shall see

We can't control what immigration officers did years ago in other countries so I assume they're used to seeing illegible stamps and it's the overall pattern (and alignment with Canadian records for the eligibility period) that they're interested in. Most of my trips within the eligibility period didn't even get stamps!

I see no reason to be concerned that the email didn't go. I get an undeliverable notification if I send something too large for the system to manage... and didn't in this case so I'm confident it was received. I'd like to think any issues will be addressed via interview so at the very least I'll wait for that - assuming I get an interview request - and confirm during it that the email was received.

My apologies,

Please translate everything which is other than English / French. Better to be safe than sorry.

And the question of
  • a certified copy of the original document."
Is still unclear to me, Is it to be done by a Notary or something else.

If Notary means it will cost a lot right?

Please suggest
Thanks

Hello guys,

Do you need to submit the orgional file recevied from the translator with your application, or just a copy is ok ?

Thank you!

I applied on paper for which IRCC asked for original certified translations of stamps as well as travel history. I kept a copy for my records.
All non-Eng/Fr stamps on all pages on all passports valid during your eligibility period have to be translated.
