Hi,

I will be attaching screenshots of my whatsapp conversation. Do I need to translate the conversations, since majority of the conversation is in Hindi and not in English.

Please advise.

Thank you :)

You dont have to, I remember somewhere in the documentation, it asks for what is your language of communication. there you mention Hindi.

But why are you taking screenshots of your whats app conversations, just Send it to your email and print. Simple and easy

If you can get a list of the number of times you communicated, like an email inbox, with the dates and times, you can use that.
If you are sending the actual conversations, then anything in Hindi should be translated into English or French. Send the originals too.

For official documents, you should use a certified translator. Technically, you should use a certified translator for everything, but then it becomes too expensive, so many people get their less important relationship evidence (such as emails, Facebook, whatsapp, etc.) translated informally - by a friend, or even themselves. If a friend does it, they can still send in the official translator's statement. If you do it, just be aware CIC does not want family members or the applicant or sponsor to be translating anything. The visa officer may accept it, but if it goes to an appeal it will not be accepted. Of course, we hope it won't go to an appeal.

My case went to an appeal does that mean i havr to get an translator to translate all of my chats which is about 3 thousand pages? Most of our chats we are arguing lol we mostly spoke on the phone like 3-4 hours a day or more

No. They do not want thousands of pages of chats. Get a sampling translated, some from the beginning, the middle, and the most recent part of your relationship.

An unnecessary step because the conversation itself is deemed personal, and that's why in the list of requirements they don't even ask for chat. If you can provide a log, then good otherwise your chats are going to get shredded. Spend energy in something else and don't waste time on translating pages upon pages of conversation.

U mean call logs ?

Thanks a lot now i wont have to print thousands of pages and make double copy lol its soo expensive ...but i have all the call logs well most of them from 2012 do u think that will be enough ?

Call logs and sometimes if you message back and forth, you get a log of messages sent and received, it has date and time, and the number sent to/received from.

They never asked for conversations in the guide. If you want to send it, it is totally up to you. But they don't go through your conversations.

Also submit more recent communication history. Do not send call logs that you have already sent. They already have that information.
