Transfering money to a canadian bank

Hello!
So, I have plans to study in a canadian college, working and then applying for CEC. But I'm yet at the very beginning of this process, which is saving money to pay for the college tuitions and stuff.
First I was thinking about saving all that I could and then transfering all at once to a canadian bank, but I thought a bit and I think maybe it's better to transfer money monthly.
So, is it possible for me to open a bank account in canada from overseas and transfer money every month?

I am holding a PR, however didnt move to Canada yet as i am trying to save some money to help me survive in my early days, now i wanted to know, is there any restiction on transfering my saving to my account in canada? any limits? or if the money coming from my own account to my own account in canada it should be find,..? and alos any tax i have to pay on that money?

when I had been transferring some funds (well above 150k CAD) to my own account in Canada from my another own account abroad there was no problem (no question asked).
