Transfered to Los Angeles

Hello All

I got an email 2 days ago that said my file had been transfered from Buffalo to Los Angeles. I was searching on the forums and found a post from 2009. The post was about someone who had their file transfered. He was staying with his wife in Canada on a visitor visa. Someone made a comment about the reason his file was transfered was because he was in Canada. I'm in the same situation. My husband is here on a visitor visa and we were transfered.

I just want to know, if anyone else has had the re file transfered? and if so was/is their other half in Canada with you or not? OR is Buffalo really that far behind they need to transfer the over flow to other offices? I just hope that they are behind and being transfered isnt a bad thing.

The application of Trish1982's husband was transferred from Buffalo to L.A. I don't recall her stating it was for any specific reason, other than reducing the workload in Buffalo.

Hey I don't think there is any specific reason why files are transferred. From what I recall from the December thread, quaking aspen was in canada throughout the processing and her file remained in Buffalo.
I think its just random.
The buffalo thread may offer more answers.

My file was transferred to Los Angeles too. At least you got a letter. We didn't receive anything stating that it had been transferred. They were quite quick in processing our application. Our file was transferred to Buffalo on May 5th, and the original PPR was issued on June 30th. We did not receive any information, and when our MP looked into it in August after we had sent in address change in July twice and nothing was updated, we found out this information. The did reissue the PPR for us, based on the fact that the MP had inquired on our behalf, and we had not received anything...

No my husband was still in Arizona...He could have gone and got his Visa by car before he came to "visit" for the summer....

My wife got transferred. Nothing special in our file. Just says to "expedite the process" they're transferrign our files. Looking back at the other threads, most people get approved in a few months after transfer, so here's to hoping that we'll all get approved soon. Looks like LA may be more with it than Buffalo.

Keep me posted if you hear anything. I was reading GENERALLY LA takes between 28 to 60 days. Heres to hoping it goes quickly for the both of us

My husband`s file was transferred to LA and they started processing his app on Sep 12 2011, the status has changed to decision made on Nov 3rd 2011, it has been 2 months now and have not received the passport request my lawyer contacted the LA office twice they have replied to him 2 weeks ago saying they will mail out the decison within a week and have not received anything yet. May be due to holiday season will keep you posted .

My husband`s File was transferred from Buffalo to LA , the letter said to expedite the process in our case though the ecas states decision made since Nov 3rd 2011 we only received the passport request on Jan 11 2012 after 3 enquiries to the Visa office I dont mean to scare you it does happen in some cases due to unknown reasons

So I looked at our ecas file and it says in process as of Jan 9th 2012!!!!!! OMG! I'm so excited!!

Have you heard from the office yet?? I would contact your MP to get a status report....if a decision was made, then you are limited to time to get the passport in...we had to do that too...our file was finalized and we did not receive anything...
