Transcipts from University?

if for some reason we can't get transcipts, how risky is it to send origianls we have?
my consultant never told me to get anything else?

Yes. You have to go to all the institutions in order to get the transcripts in a sealed envelope. I have also gone through this stage and I have got from all the institutions.

I was asked by my consultant to get original transcripts for 10th, 12th, Bachelors and Masters but I took colour copies of my original transcripts and ask all the institutions to attest it and put it in a sealed envelope. After getting the transcripts in a sealed envelope I gave it to my consultant.

It is better not to send your original transcripts because there is a possibility that immigration office may loose the documents or sometime they do not return the documents after processing.

Then why do you think that CIC/CHC states the following?

"6. EDUCATION/TRAINING/QUALIFICATIONS
For you, your spouse or common-law partner:
• Post-secondary education documents: vocational or technical certificates or
diplomas;
• College or university documents: certification of completion and the
graduation degree, diploma, or certificate issued by the college or university and
the evaluation committee;
• Transcripts: original transcripts of all degrees must be submitted in university sealed
envelopes.
• Professional qualifications certificates: notarized professional qualifications
certificates should be submitted if available. (e.g., Engineer, Computer
Programmer, Accountant, Economist, Translator/Interpreter, Architect etc.)

But the again it is your application so I guess that you can do what you want and take the consequences.

Dear below CHC Islamabad reply will clear u. In my opinion notarized photocopies are more than enough. But for safe side it will be batter to send them original documents, notarized photocopies alongwith highest degree detailed mark sheets. If u are doctor or engineer to take detailed mark sheet from college or university, sealed and stamp them in College/ University Envelope.

It is stated in Canadian Immigration – Application for Permanent Residence – Skilled Worker – Visa Office Specific Instructions Islamabad ( IMM 7020 E (08-2008) Appendix A SR.# 6 point 3 that transcripts: Original Transcripts of all the Degrees must be submitted in University sealed envelopes


Punjab University was approached for Original Transcripts of MBBS & Bachelor of Commerce in University sealed envelopes but it was refused by the University Registrar and suggested that we will fix verified stamp on your Original Transcripts and also send the verified copies directly to Canadian Embassy Islamabad along with a letter on which our case number will be mentioned.



Please advice about the matter and also guide us whether to submit the original or attested/ notarized copies of the following documents.

1-Matric -

2-FSC - Intermediate

3-MBBS Degree

4-Post Graduate Diploma Certificate in Cost & Management.



I received a letter as on 4-4-2009 along with a check list. I compare the checklist with Visa Office Specific Instructions Islamabad ( IMM 7020 E (08-2008) and noted that the checklist and Visa office instructions are not in agreement with each other i.e., check list point 7 copies of educational documents to be submitted whereas in IMM 7020 E Original sealed Transcripts & documents are required to submit

I have applied in London office so I have submitted coloured attested copies of all my educational certificates from different institutes in their sealed envelope. I have attested all my diplomas from my country counsulate because in UAE they do not notarize documents which are not in Arabic language.

do we need to show originals also at the time of verification?
wat else is required?
that seems a better solution as compared to getting transcripts from university or board.
less time consuming, u will be present their (not ur relatives), some money will be invloved.
how much money is required. is it per certificate or is it per head for all the certificates (their are lot of marksheets - 8 semesters, bachelors than masters, etc).

Hi Pooja

Getting your transcripts attested is no big deal as many of the Universities do it.

All you have to do is, submit the Copies of your transcripts to the University where you earned them from and get it attested and also get them attested in a sealed envelope and address it to the Credentials Evaluation Center in Canada. Its sufficient if you get your College degrees and Mark Sheets attested. Credentials Evaluation Center, on receipt of your envelopes will send you a certificate indicating the equivalent of your education against Canadian education system.

Its safe that the transcripts of Spouse be sent for verification/validation if he/she is intends to work there.

so, v can nominate some and ask them to go to university and get it all attested
do v need it for principal applicant only? or spouses transcripts also needed to be sent for verification?
only master's /bachelor's needs to be attested or v need to send 10th or 12th class mark sheet also?
