hey i have one confusion...if ill get my passport call before september and if i get my passport back by the time do u think i can go india and cross the border....one more thing if ill get married over thr do u think it will be a problem for when ill return without pr card...

if u do boarder crossing n finish ur landing procesure cant fly untill u get ur pr card, n it take arond 40-50 days. but the best way is get ur passport back from cic n go to ur country, come back before ur immigration visa expire(in 3 months), so u will finish ur landing in the airport. n then keep waiting for pr card. i think it will help u.

I'd like to make some corrections here. If you get married before the landing, you need to notify CIC. You must not land without your spouse. If you do, its gonna get almost impossible for you to sponsor him/her coz cic will take it as cheating/fraud. You mentioned in ur application that you were single that means, you need to land with the same situation. Thats why, they advise us to tell them know on any changes in any circumstances ex. marriage, adopt of child, so and so forth...

I submitted my initial app to NS (Feb 2012), then it got routed to CPP-Ottawa for Meds (Apr 2012), then it got routed to NY consulate in NY to actually process my file (Apr 2013). My FBI background check had expired so had to wait an additional 6 weeks to receive the new ones. Then about 2 weeks after they received my updated FBI, I received the PPR. I currently live in the US. Hope this timeline inspires others who are still waiting. There is still hope! BTW, how do I attach my stats to my profile name?

However, if you get married after your landing, then there is no issue in sponsoring your spouse. So, the bottom line is that you could land as a PR then go to India, get married, come back and sponsor your spouse. I am pressuring more on this coz i have seen a similar case in Toronto, where a guy went to India in the middle of his pr process, got married, came back but didnt tell cic about his status change and went for landing procedure as a single applicant. After he came back from landing, he started applying for his wife that got cic all confused on where in hell his wife come from all of a sudden??? If he was married before getting his PR, why didnt he let us know? As of today's date, he is still struggling to bring his wife here.

Well, usually when someone go to their home country and gets married in between the process of their application and when they inform cic about their change of status, CIC simply stops his/her ppr until they get done with the main applicant's spouse. Once their spouse is ready for ppr, cic will send ppr for both husband and wife and they have to land together in Canada. You on the other hand, is planning to use the PR visa on your way back from India which I think will not work coz afterall your gonna be married BEFORE landing in Canada. So, if you inform them about your wedding from India when you already have your PR visa and COPR and are planning to land in Canada with those documents, won't work. They will simply tell you to not to use ur PR visa until they are ready to issue your spouse a PR visa and that you guys can land together as Permanent Residents.

So, the whole point here is that if you get married AFTER landing in Canada as a Permanent Resident, there is no problem involved in sponsoring your spouse. But if you get married BEFORE landing and land in Canada without your spouse then it will be so damn hard to convince CIC that your marriage is real and not a fake one to get someone into Canada.

So guys is it only me who wants to receive ppr and outraged by CIC discrimination?We gotta do something.We have our petition which is a huge advantage for us.March applicants have been in process for more than 4 months.Let alone people who applied in april and may.With the new minister they wil just forget about the backlog.He will want to show an even faster processing times at our expense.If we dont raise our voices they will start reviewing March 2013,april,may 2013.This is unacceptable!!!!!!The government is lying to our faces.send the petition to CIC ottawa,new ministers office,MPs whoever you want. cant do it by myself,i wont do it by myself

How much longer do you think they will keep us waiting?Two months,4 months,year??????Lets go to Ottawa to protest.They are openly saying that priority will be given to applicants who pplied before june 1st 2012.How come they are already reviewing february 2013?????We need no more than 15-20 people out there.I will come in a heart beet.Who supports me?Any other suggestions are welcome!

I am a Feb 2012 applicant and just received my passport request on June 21st so I would like to send some hope and prayers your way that you'll get an update before the end of this month.
