Hi Snopro,

Can you update here when you do get the COPR mail?

Thanks and good luck!

Hi Everyone!

I just registered here and sent my application for PR yesterday!

I applied under AINP (got my nomination at the end of September, 2013). I've been living in Alberta for three years, so obviously I am applying within Canada.

They asked me to send my application to the CIO in Sydney, NS. Any idea how long the process should take?

Thanks and good luck to everyone!

I applied through the SINP, submitted my application September 2012. I received my Passport request yesterday, October 21st 2013.
File went into process on March 16th 2013 and medical request was in April.

I went through the London, UK CIC office, total time from Application filed to passport request 1 year 1 month

Hi Phil4712,

It's really hard for somebody to tell you how long it's gonna take the processing time in your case as you have just now submitted your application. If everything is fine with your application (I mean if CIO thinks that your application is COMPLETE with all the required documentation) they will first send you the AOR (Acknowledgement Of Receipt) and then later the Medical Request. If I am correct, it takes about 2 months to get AOR and MR. Then after that I believe it's gonna take about 6 months. This is all my assumption only, so please DO NOT take it for granted. Because, I am also an AINP applicant (applied from USA) and it took almost 11 months for me to receive my PPR. So, it will be different from case to case.

Good luck for everything.

Thanks,
Sarayu.

Thanks for the answer Sarayu.

Also, I intend to go back to university to complete my degree some time after I get my PR (I only have a 2-year college diploma). Does anyone know if that would be okay? It's just because I know that my provincial nomination and PR are tied to my current full-time job, which I would probably have to quit in order to go back to uni (which will definitely be in Alberta, where I live now, so I don't plan to move to another province).

Thanks!

My application still says *in process* almost a month now... just waiting :D

Congrats .... All the best in Canada

for me, its really amazing to see how this post has grown fast.... and all the support from all the members during this hard transition that it is the inmigration process.. I guess nobody would understand how hard is it. (emotional and economical speaking). im still waiting for decision made status and PR, but I log in everyday several times just to try to help anyone with questions. I read most of the posts and to see so many people with so different situations and looking an improvement in their lives, makes me realize that Im not alone in this boat and this inmigration process is something that changes your live forever.

I really would like to thank sarayu for his enthusiasm and tracksheet that is been so helpful in the most stressful hours.

Cheers,
