Hi greg_peg:

That's great news buddy. So, you are going to get your PPR as soon as you pay your RPRF and send the PCCs.

Hey Kavy, is the bio-data and updated personal one and the same or both are different?...I am just curious to know.

Thanks,
Sarayu.
yeah sarayu they are different as biodata form only shows information about you and your dependent's height and eye colour and nothing else. Although i dont really understand why exactly they need this !

Hi Friends,

My wife got her PR (Visa stamped) in India at Chandigarh Visa office and I have sent my passport to Ottawa for PR visa.

Visa officer from Ottawa called me on Friday (14th June) and he facilitated all the process. He told me he will coordinate with Chandigarh Visa office to get pr for my wife so that we dnt have to bother to bring her passport here. He told me to send my passport to Ottawa and I will get it back in 3 weeks.

I have to land first as principal applicant and only then my wife can come to Canada.

Thanks for all your help so far and best wishes!

Cheers,
Calainp

Hi Calainp,

Congratulations buddy. I am so happy for you. This is some thing first time which I have heard about getting PR visa stamped in India itself for the dependents who are currently in India. No doubt, it really helps other applicants as well. Because as of now the applicants like you were getting struggled to get their dependents passports all the way from India to Canada. Any way it's is really good to hear from you.

Have a wonderful life ahead in Canada.

Thanks,
Sarayu.

Its been 2 months my status changed to "In Process". I emailed them last week and they replied that "All the paperwork is complete, no action is required. Your file is in process and visa officer will contact you".

Don't know how much more wait !!!

Need help in changing jobs on work permit

Hi,

My PR application is under process (in AINP category). My nationality is India. I was nominated by Alberta in year 2011 (US visa holder category). This helped me obtain a work permit without LMO by HRSDC. So, I moved to Calgary from USA and currently working on a closed work permit for an employer in Calgary. Due to recent layoffs and lack of projects I decided to change my employer. I also got an offer letter from a new employer. Can I start working for the new employer while my new work permit is in process? or I must wait until it is approved. I am concerned about the process time of my new work permit because of the ongoing strike action by visa officers. If possible, please send website links regarding this issue.

Thanks in advance

Hey there,
In most of the cases, when a person is applying under PNP category, CIC does not inquire for the employer as province as already did that for them. But you are taking a big risk buddy, because it is illegal to start a job without a valid work permit. So i would recommend you to wait for the updated work permit because i know one case who changed his job and had to wait for new work permit to start the new job, which generally takes 2 months (cez of ongoing strike we can't even guess). So if your file is already showing IN PROCESS, then don't even need to change the job, just have a vacation for a month and you will get the PPR Soon but if you go for change of employer ,then you have to report to AINP as well and then CIC for the job upgrades which can cause delays.. Good Luck

Hello Sep28,

I have just received the exact same email. Do you know what it means?

I believe, despite this transfer, that CIC sent you the PPR. Could you please tell me how long it took between the day you received the transfer email and the PPR?

Thanks a lot,

Cheers!

Guys,

I just made a phone call to CIC call centre trying to get some info on the STRIKE, apparently, even the applications in CPP-O are affected by the strike due to the fact that the personnel in CPP-O belong to the same union as other visa officers overseas. But the agent told me that she doesn't think this strike will create a huge delay in current applications according to the strike process in the past week. It's a depressing news, hopefully we'll get over it real soon and start getting pprs!
