hi guys
If someone has approved LMO from B.C
then how many days it will to get nomination and how long it will take to get work permit

it doesn't matter if lmo or not. I would call the bc pnp people. they will tell you the current time frame.

when i applied they said it takes about 12 weeks and I got the nomination after 10 weeks.

Hi Guys,

I have inquired with my representative to know if they have any idea how the things are going in general at CPP-Ottawa. They replied me as below.

We are currently receiving passport requests for applicants of CPP-Ottawa, who completed their medical exam in October/November 2012.

Please note that it is currently taking up to 18 weeks to receive GCMS notes. It is very likely that we will receive further communication from the visa office before the GCMS notes arrive. I believe that if you continue to wait we should hear back from the visa office soon. Please let me know how you would like to proceed.

So, my question is, should I go ahead and apply for my GCMS or not? Can somebody tell me how much it costs to apply...as you know I am out side Canada applicant.

Thanks,
Sarayu.

Hey Sarayu,

I do not think its a problem if you apply for the GCMS notes. Its costs 5 bucks for it. This is some information I looked up for you in this forum. Hope it helps.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/requests-personal.asp (doing it by yourself if eligible)
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/requests-atip.asp (if you are not eligible to do it yourself and need to appoint a representative)

To be eligible to make this request, you must be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada or an individual currently present in Canada.

So if you are not a Canadian citizen or PR, and you are outside Canada, you will need to appoint someone who is Canada to request it for you under the Access to Information Act.
If you are a temporary resident and are physically in Canada, you are eligible to do it yourself under the Privacy Act.

Thanks

Hi Sarayu,

There are three meaning I get from your representative's email. Firest, the GCMS note is taking longer then usual(up to 18 weeks); second, they are receiving lots of passport request lately; third, they believe that they will hear from CIC with your case soon(less than 18 weeks).

So I thing they think is not necessary to apply GCMS note base on recent status of CIC. Those are just my personal understand from your email. Hope that will help :)

Hello sarayu, i am also in two frame of minds at the moment regarding GCMS. Your representative is very right in saying that you ll definitely hear back from the visa office a lot prior to receiving GCMS notes but still i think this wd be very informative to know that how the file actually passes through different processes and where our file got stuck and for why. I wonder whether they send the information upto the date when we applied GCMS notes or upto the date they mail us back. If the later is correct then its worth to apply atleast for curiosity and informative reasons. Do tell me if you apply coz i ll also apply then.

Thanx

Luis,

the Excel file CPP-Ottawa Applicants attached to Sarayu's posts could give you some insights.

On an average, considering the five longest cases acknowledged so far, it took an average of 58 days to move from "Medical Results Received", in ECAS, to the PPR. The statistical group is not consistent, though, due to the small amount of available cases.

Hi chustwinder,

We have the same local VO. Mine was received on 9 October 2012 by CIO Sydney, NS then received the first AOR on 28 November 2012 then a second AOR from the local VO on the 9 January 2013. Since then I have not heard any news from them until I checked my eCas today with an update that the local VO has already started processing my application on 8 May 2013. I have summarised my timeline below:

Application Sent: 28 September 2012
Application Received by CIO Sydney, NS: 9 October 2012
First AOR Received: 28 November 2012
Second AOR Received: 9 January 2013
eCas Updated: 11 May 2013
eCas Status: In Process - We have started processing your application on 8 May 2013

I applied for an Open Work Permit last 22 December 2012 and received my Worker Visa on 30 January 2013. I'm due to leave Melbourne, Australia with an ETA in Toronto on 17 May 2013.

I think the delay is due the fact that the local VO in Sydney, Australia only has a cap of 80 applications to process for 2012 under the PNP Stream.
