hey kavy,,,dont worry about this, i did my medicals on jan 14 and ecas got updated on march 24th. it depends on the doctor that how long they take to send your report to ottawa. Just call the doctor and confirm if they sent your medicals to ottawa.

Hi,

I received a letter from my province for an OWP(open work permit). You can go ahead and apply for your OWP. In the meantime get onto job sites and start applying for jobs in Alberta, getting a job should not be a problem since you have work experience in the US already, also most employers will hire you since you have a OWP (you are not tied to any employer) and they do not have to go through the hassle of getting a Work Permit for you. Once you've found your line of work and have worked in the firm for 3 months you will get your medical benefits from the province by applying for the Alberta health card (AHCIP) (At least thats the rule for workers in ontario on Work Permits). Hope this helps.

Thanks
Kia99

Thank Kia99 for your advise
But I'm not having a USA experience nor I'm in USA.
Do you have any specific site that you recommend.
I've already applied to a number of jobs & job sites and most of them turn to be recruitment agencies tp who you just file a C.V. but no specific job to apply for :(, I'll always keep on trying :).
thank alot

@Khan78, @Zizu, @chiefmissile, @muhammadfahad @any other forumite

London VO have written me requesting for documents update (proof of fund and a detailed explanation of how you will become economically established).

Can you guys please guide me on what to include in the explanation? How long should it be and what to include and what not to include?

I just wondered why this update without MR & RPRF - its also surprising why the update is coming this late.

best to all of us.

Hi
If you are in Canada, you can contact CIC call center:
1-888-242‑2100
If you are lucky, they will tell you if medicals were updated in the database and its just an issue with your visa office that doesn't update them in system

Hi,

I had the same request, but in addition they asked me for RPRF, not sure why? Most applications that are processed via London are being asked for additional information. I wrote 5 pages in a letter format and enclosed bank statements and other financial documentation. My package was received in London on the 8th April. The statement of economic establishment is really quite straight forward, just write a letter and start by saying why you are coming to Canada, how much finances you have etc (Attach proof) The more the better, they need to know that you will be able to support your self when you get there.

Talk about your qualifications and if you are ready to work as soon as you land, if not what steps you are taking to ensure you will be able to work.

Talk about who you know in Canada, what employers you have been in contact with and what type of jobs you are interested in.

Tell them about any relatives you have in Canada and about how long they have been there and what they are going to do for you when you arrive.

Talk about your job prospects and whether there is a shortage of people with your skill sets and any evidence you have of the province that you are moving to is advertising for people like you. How long you think it will take you to get a job? do you know anyone from your country with the same skill sets that has successfully settled.

Talk about your housing needs and what you have done to ensure you have a roof over your head when you arrive and that you have people to help you settle.

Really stress the point that you will make an immediate economic contribution to the Canadian economy and why do you think you will, taxes, bringing new skills, new cultures etc.

You just have to sell your self and show that you have done lots of research on your profession, place you intend to live, housing, jobs & family.

Hope this helps

Hi,

Try www.workopolis.ca and www.eluta.ca, www.monster.ca. Even if you have couple of years of work experience backing you, you should not have a problem. It might take time but you will find a job. Since you have the OWP offer in hand, its a good head start you get.

Thanks

Thanx lilotia.....ll surely call them. I can see that it took hell of a time in your case, almost 4 months to update. Did you got an answer from them as to why it took so much longer ?

Hi Gurdev,
