Hi Kia99

Thanks for your response .One more question did you get any confirmation email when your file got transferred to CPO from CIO Sydney?

No I did not, I was in a dilema as to where to send my PCC's so I wrote to CIO sydney and they said that my file is with CPP-O. Thats how I knew.

Thanks

hi Kia99, I was already requested to pay the RPRF and wondering if I can pay it thru credit card via online payment.. just soliciting advise for those who have done the RPRF fee payment outside Canada. thanks..

Hello there!
Here's a link to payment instructions in the Philippines http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/philippines/visas/fees-frais.aspx

Please take note of:
Current applications: If you are paying additional fees for an application currently being processed in Manila, the fee payment must be attached to the letter from our office requesting the payment.

Fees must be paid by bank draft, certified cheque, postal money order (PMO) or manager’s cheque. Cash payment is not accepted.

Print your name on the back of the bank draft or certified cheque.

Fees can only be paid in Canadian Dollar and Philippine Peso currencies although it is advisable to pay in Canadian Dollars to avoid currency fluctuation.

Hope this helps. :)

Hi KAJORDAN,

Thanks for your prompt response. I have added you to the Nov track sheet along with all your time lines. I am happy to see that you are also a Mechanical Engineer. Please share your thoughts on employee market (in the Mechanical Engineering field) in Canada if you had already researched a bit on this. I will also try to share any info with you.

As I see, it looks like you are new to this forum. You may please post any your questions/concerns here so that one of us will help finding answers to you.

Wish you good luck for your rest of journey buddy.

Thanks,
Sarayu.

Thanks Sarayu
It is really a relief to have ideas and thoughts exchanged

My first question; I guess you didn't receive otherwise you'll respond:

Did anyone received a letter of support for an open work permit ?

Not sure how/why/when/ alot of Q??s.
So if any one has info please share .
I guess the chances are hard in finding work as a foreigner on work permit, specifically; if you are not licensed to work as an engineer and you have a family to feed!! You will be competing with Citizens and PR holders plus no license.

Hi KAJORDAN,

I am an AINP-H1B visa holder category applicant and staying in USA right now. Honestly I have no idea about these open work permits...sorry. But, I am sure somebody will respond back to your query.

Thanks,
Sarayu.

I have got the letter of support for the Open WP from Ontario, support letters were issued for all backlog reduction nominees. With OWP you can travel early and integrate yourself to Canadian workforce.

You may go to an RCMP-accredited fingerprinting agency. I have got a list of the agencies from my local police department. The same list can be found in the following link:
http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/rtid-itr/vulner-eng.htm
The agency will send your electronic fingerprints to the RCMP in Ottawa, and then the RCMP in Ottawa will send you your RCMP criminal record within 2 weeks. Once you receive the record, you may send it to CIC (in my case, CIO).

As many mentioned earlier, go for electronic fingerprinting because it's faster.

Hi,

I received a letter from my province for an OWP(open work permit). You can go ahead and apply for your OWP. In the meantime get onto job sites and start applying for jobs in Alberta, getting a job should not be a problem since you have work experience in the US already, also most employers will hire you since you have a OWP (you are not tied to any employer) and they do not have to go through the hassle of getting a Work Permit for you. Once you've found your line of work and have worked in the firm for 3 months you will get your medical benefits from the province by applying for the Alberta health card (AHCIP) (At least thats the rule for workers in ontario on Work Permits). Hope this helps.

Thanks
