Thanks anser0131! Apparently, I can't copy and paste the email address I've got from the CIO email because the characters are not recognized by email system. I later typed the email address myself and it worked fine :P

Good luck :)

Hi kilas78,

Yes, it'a mandatory to translate your certificates from your native language to English in order for CIO to process your application. Please see below link to find approved translators.

Thanks,

You didn't need to go to the police department. You just go to the electroinc fingerprint angency tell them you need to do criminal record for immigration. They will ask for your file number or UCI and after RCMP do the search, they will mail the report to the visa office.

As it for me, I did it when I was getting my application ready so RCMP mailed to my home, took two days.
Is it mandatory to provide fingerprint scans along with your application ? because i submitted the normal police certificate from my local police station in canada. I think they will ask for it if they have any security doubts.

Hi Steffi,

Thanks for your reply! I am a bit confused. I first went to the Vancouver Police Department to request for police record check and fingerprint. They charged me $70 for the record check and suggested me to get digital fingerprinting at any RCMP accredited electronic fingerprinting services office. Then, I went to an accredited agency and got my fingerprint done. They said, I will receive an RCMP criminal record check from Ottawa.

Now, my question is, after I get the record check from the police department and the RCMP record check, do I need to send both to CIO or just the RCMP record check?

Do you send the record check to CIO or CPP-O or your VO?

Thanks :)
Hi polaris star.... did you got email from CIO to send them fingerprint or criminal record check or you are doing it yourself just in case ?

Yes, I received an email from CIO asking for RCMP criminal record based on fingerprints. Here is what written in the email:

"RCMP Criminal Record Check: If your residence period in Canada has been six months or longer since the age of 18, provide a certified criminal record check You must provide a certified RCMP criminal record check based on fingerprints. Please check the CIC website (Obtaining Police Certificates) and refer to RCMP certificates in Canada for details on obtaining a RCMP "Criminal Record Check".
Consult http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/cr-cj/fing-empr2-eng.htm for detailed instructions.
Please mail your fingerprints to mailing address listed on website. This must be received at this office by xxx.

The fingerprints agency will collect fingerprints, which are required to request for a criminal record from "Canadian Criminal Real Time Identification Services, RCMP" in Ottawa.

Some people submitted their RCMP criminal record together with their application. If I knew this earlier, I would do the same!

Hello Sarayu,
Please update.
Medical Reports sent from Doctor to CIO/VO: March 13, 2013.
In Process Status: March 8, 2013.
And please modify the date for Additional Docs Requested from 12-Feb to 12-March.
Thanks!

LVO and NDVO both are sleeping like a baby ... no response to any of the applicants associated with these VOs in November group.

If DCCMJ gets anything today from LVO - then we (Khan 78, supa and myself) may have a chance to get the medicals from LVO this month, or else another looooong wait ... >:(

Hi,

I see that your application has received speedy processing to date, we got our AOR from Sydney 23 Jan and to date no MR. What email address did you use to contact LVO. What dose CSE stand for?

Regards

Andrew

I used this URL: https://dmp-portal.cic.gc.ca/cicemail/intro-eng.aspx?mission=london to send CSE. Were you nominated as part of the "FSW backlog reduction pilot" because speedy processing may owe to that stream. Hope it helps.

Thanks,
Fahad

Hi mflicerio,

Thanks for sharing your updates. Track sheet has been updated....and sorry for the typo...I have corrected it now.

Did you ask the doctor's office for the tracking number of your package? If yes, please keep an eye and let me know once it's received by CIO/VO.

Thanks and good luck
Sarayu.

Hi Kavy,
I wanted to email them to enquire something else, not on the RCMP criminal record :)

As far as I understand, if you are an in Canada applicant, you can go to a private fingerprints agency, where your fingerprints will be taken and sent to the RCMP in Ottawa by the fingerprints agency. The officers said electronic fingerprinting is significantly faster. Next, the RCMP in Ottawa will mail the criminal record check with fingerprints to you, which you will mail/courier to CIO. If you are outside of Canada, the process is slightly different and you can't submit your fingerprints electronically to the RCMP in Ottawa.
