Hi Indiapnp,
Can you share your timeline, I am also in the same boat, I have sent birth certificates issued by GCI in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, However I have added notorized translated copy 10th Certificate, which shows date of birth and parent name. Not sure whether they will accept or send back the file. My file was reached to CIO on 26th Nov.
I submitted this month and got my application returned. In the guide to application they mention about getting documents translated, under some conditions they Dnt ask of an affidavit form the translator. pls read the section there. If they Dnt need an affidavit from the translator in your case then you are fine to provide secondary school record that shows
Ur full name
Ur date of birth and
Name of ur parent/ parents.
That's to my best understanding.
Hope that helps!

Thanks Indiapnp,
I can just hope and prey, till they give AOR, I believe they will take around 60 days to give AOR. Till than cant say anything

1. I refer to the letter I received in the returned application. it say that a school leaving certificate is acceptable, with my full name, date of birth and name of my parent/parents.
I am confused if you are saying that it is not,
Sarayu can you please confirm.

Alternative, I have my Birth certificate but I need to get it translated to English.
I believe they require translated copy, photocopy of the original and an affidavit from the translator.
I am just trying to Avoid translation if 10/12 passing certificate would work.

2. In Cic's check list section 9,
They ask for valid visa if you are out of your home country, I am working in Canada and I am from India. So I was not sure if they need "valid visa", or work permit suffices.

hello dear,

10th and 12th certificate is valid if both parents name and date of birth is written on the certificate,
and you should also include affidavit from your side write date of birth and place of birth and your parents name.
i am sure about it , i confirmed this from sinp office.

cheers

Well this is getting confused, as some says parent name, while you said both parents. In my case I just have my father's name in my 10th Certificate and the same is applicable for my spouse. Well I am thinking to go ahead get ready my affidavits, in case CIO returns my file I will re-submit it quickly.

Hi Indiapnp,

I know someone who's application was accepted with GCI issued birth certificate, however it was more than 2 years ago. Based on that case only I sent my application, but unfortunately mine was returned. I saw few more applicants as well who's applications were returned due to missing of actual birth certificates.

The only thing is, as per your representative, just wait until you hear back from CIO.

Yes, I also sent my application to CIO Nova Scotia, but under AINP-H1B stream.

Thanks,
Sarayu.

Hi Sarayu & Team,

When you resubmitted ur application, I take u started fresh instead of using the same old application package?
Also, Finally, a copy of 12th /10th grade passing certificate with my full name, DOB and Name of parent/parents is sufficient correct?

Thanks,
Indiapnp

Hi atinsingh,

Actually the 10th or 12th class certificate should be fine as proof of your birth, but it MUST show all the following.

1. Your full name (First name and last name)
2. Your date of birth
3. Your both parents full name...I mean mother's and father's full name (OR) just mother's full name (OR) just father's full name...I am 100% sure any one's full name is OK...I hope you don't have any confusion now.

If you and your spouse's 10th or 12th certificates meet the above criteria, CIO will not ask you for any further documentation in regards to your birth certificate. If you still wanna be safer side, go ahead and get ready the affidavits for you and your spouse.

Thanks,
Sarayu.

Hi Indiapnp,

I had just re-validated my IMM0008 form, but not filled in the complete new form. I had to re-validate because the time when CIO returned my application for the second time, it was almost 6 months old application, so I didn't want to take a risk by sending the same form which was filled in 6 months ago.

Coming to the birth certificates, please see my just one post above here...hope that gives you the answer.

Hey, can you please update your time lines on your accout....After you logging in to your account please follow the below steps to update your time lines and profile.

So I take that I can just add the birth certificate and resend the whole package back because it less than six months. Also, do I need to include the letter I received in the returned package ?

Thanks,
Indiapnp
