just phoned again and got a really pleasant guy who said that It can take up to 60 days ... much more helpful. :)

I do not trust CIC call center agents at all. You make 5 calls talk to 5 different agent, I am sure you will get 5 different answers....

5weeks???? damn thats long...im planning to send it now but got a business trip 12th of april...dont think will be able to get it back then...otherwise i would have to wait until the end of april....

All,

Just wanted to share my PoE experience...

I am in Calgary, Alberta, so I drove to Carway PoE. Then passed to the US border control, they knew exactly what I was doing before I even had to say it. The officer took my passport and I drove into a small car park and entered the building, I was given a refusal to enter US (but told this was not an official refusal to enter) and passed back to the canadian border control. I went inside the building and the officer took my CoPR and asked me to sit in a waiting room for a little while. After about 15 mins I was called back and he explained the process then said congratulations on gaining permanent residency. Overall it was a really smooth process and I was back in Calgary after about 7 hours for the whole trip.

I hope everyone else that is waiting will get their PPR/CoPR soon, and has a similarly easy experience in gaining PR status.
Hi,
Phill R
I am also in Calgary, Can you give more info for What type of documents they ask on the border ?

I am worried about this refusal of entry to US if I do the flagpole, I have holiday plans for June as I am meeting family in New York so how do you know it is not permanent refusal? was the border guy horrid? Did you tell him that you were needing to leave canada to land back as PR.

It's not an official refusal to enter, just part of their paperwork I guess. They were very specific about telling me this. It is no problem don't worry. :)

All I needed was the CoPR and my passport. There will be information that comes with the CoPR telling what you need to take, just make sure you read that in case your requirements are different to mine. :)

Hi Phil_R have you called CIC and if you can land in Calgary's office. People say you have to wait long time for that if you want to land in local office.

A friend was told it would take 5-6 weeks to get an appointment to land in Calgary local office (I cannot verify this though, so may be worth getting in touch with them and find out first hand). I wanted to land as soon as possible so travelled to US border.

Didnt got any request for Photo or Bio also i guess it depends on the CIC officer's discretion.

OK, I will call CIC once I get my ppr. (Don't know when I can get it.)

If it's too slow to land in Calgary local office. I will go to us boarder to land then.

First of all, Congrats to all the guys that received PPR.

Even though I am still far off from PPR, imho, photos may be needed for the CIC copy of the CoPR.
