Hi,

This may help you all a little.

A friend on mine received his passport request yesterday. He applied in the last week of Mar 2012 and his file went to Buffalo.

Moreover, on 26 Mar 2013 he received an in process update and no additional documents were requested. Hope this brings you all a little comfort.

Yes, he did applied for GCMS notes a few weeks back in mid-Feb.

His processing time is over 12 months now and as per his last gcms notes that he ordered in Feb. Everything were in process, i.e. security, criminality, org. crime and eligibility.

I dont think that CIC took his case as an exception.

I applied in the last week of Mar 2012 and my file didn't go to Buffalo. And until now, I haven't received anything update from Ottawa.
I feel not comfortable

Personally, even I am monitoring my file through GCMS.

Basically, GCMS notes are sent by a different dept and not CIC. So if you are in Canada, order GCMS notes every few months. Even if they are a month old, the still more provide valuable information then ECAS status.

Combine information on GCMS notes, ecas status, emails sent to CIC, time spent on this forum and be on your feet, your file will move much faster.

For example, many candidates spend weeks and sometime months after they receive nomination. The waste time then being on their feet and send application immediately.

It was the same for my friend as well. Security was not started and the rest were in progress. Check if you have passed the due date for Criminality and Security. If yes, then send them an email with your notes as reference.

well, all my due date is May 26,2013. Do have to wait until that day to notify them ?
CIC always reply me with the standard response, such as:
Your application has been transfered to CPP-ottawa for future process, please keep your inquiry to minimum.........

Tell them that your pcc is expiring soon and so is your medical.

That should prompt them to reply soon. These are all experiments. The rest is your luck.

Soon the processing time will change as the new quarter has already begun.

If its goes down then use it as the base for your email. For example, from 13 months the processing time becomes 12 months then you can send send an email.

I guess after March 30,2013 they stopped responding to GCMS, RPRF without request or any other tricks. Looks like they are not bothered anymore about our request.I send almost 10 emails but everything in vain. I am not upset bcas they are processing slowly, i am upset bcas they are not organized and giving preference to the applicants who applied after us. ??? >:(

I agree ...same here I am not mad bcoz they are slow but they need to follow there own word...they keep saying all the application received after June 1 will get review after Aug 31,2013. and most of the people who even applied in Nov 2012 is getting PPR . its just so frustrating

any progress for anyone ? anything ? do we still keep waiting after 13 months timeline passes by ?

my suggestion to you is to take it easy and not keep sending multiple emails. There are quite a lot of factors that affect response time which may include but not limited to:

1. the complexity of your application
2. The stream in which you are applying
3. The workload in your visa office
4. Medical result
5. The numbers of country in which you have lived before etc.

And depending on the stage of your application, if I were you I will send case query to my VO assuming you pass through the initial QA checks. All the best guys

my co-worker had applied in October 2012 and received his passport request today...wtf..n i am waiting since last may 2012...
