Congratulations on the progress on your application. Wishing you all the BEST.

Wrote the test today at 8am in Calgary. 19 out of 20. The interview was pretty quick. Probably I was the first person to get out after the interview. She did not even look at all documents I brought.
The lady in the exam room said 1-3 months for the oath invite.
The interviewing lady said "expect it at the end of January"

Dear friends,
My exam is on the 18th of November. I applied in June the last day of the old law. I want to know if my children will also do the exam. who has a similar experience and would like to help me. My children are 15-17 when we applied.
Thank you

Congratulations on your test Invitation. Everyone between the ages of 14 and 64 at the time they apply for citizenship must take the citizenship test. Kindly see the link below http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=374&t=5

I applied on June 10 and I did my test however my 16 years old son didn't do it. I didn't receive test invitation for him only me and my spouse did the test. The officer never asked about him. I had my test on Novemebr 3. If you applied June 11 then your sons have to do the test

Ojeola's information applies only to those who applied on June 11 or afterwards.

Whomever applied under the old rules are bound to the rules in place back then, when the test was required to people in the 18-54 age bracket.

If I'm not mistaken, (almost certain) children up to 18 years are exempted from taking the Citizenship test.

However, please check the rules again on the CIC website to be doubly sure.

If you spend couple of hours doing online test practice for 2 days before the test day is more than sufficient.

That correct. The above rules solely apply to those that applied under the new roles affter June 11th.

Test notice sent on 10th Nov for test dated 2 dec2015. received today by mail post. ecas also updated today. Me and my son 17 years applied as family. file in process on 1st sep. my office is surrey Bc. any advice for the test preparations

Checked my Ecas and got a test date.....Dec. 16! :D :D Still need to receive the actual letter sent on Nov.10.
My son, who's 17,and I also applied as family. We're still under the old rule so I got a test date and he didn't (thank goodness for that)
Local office is Saskatoon. I also have a former co-worker taking his exams on Dec 15. So I guess Saskatoon office is moving along with its next batch of applicants :D :D :D

BTW,I updated my timeline on the spreadsheet. Thank you.

oath next week wednesday, finally a long journey comes to an end!!

I have a trip planned to the US Friday and hotels booked. I was wondering if my oath is Wednesday, is there any way I can travel to the US and return back without a canadian passport?

Or, is it possible to get a passport Friday itself?

Thanks
