Please ensure that you are entering the Date Of birth same as the passport. Also, in my case, i was able to link based on last application i had files where i had pace between place and country for my daughter.

Hi I am new to this thread,
Landed June 22
Linked application to PR card on 12th july, Home page status says submitted, No further updates.
When you say ghost update or card approved, do you get an email from CIC or is this the home page status that changes from "Submitted" to "approved".

Thank you in advance and All the best with receiving your cards.

Ghost update means that your status will change to "updated" and when you open the details it will show no changed and the status goes back to "submitted". There was no email from cic until i got my status changed to approved.

That depends mostly on what you enter in Place of Birth field..
I was able to link my application with the format Cityname,Statename with no space.
For my husband's application Cityname, Statename format with space worked.

I just followed by someone's post here to call IRCC and ask them spell out as it is in the application and it helped.

Actually, the place of birth has to be exactly same as the one on your passport, including the punctuation.
If you use the same as mentioned in the passport, the linking will go through.

Thank you so much for your reply.
I made a mistake in my timeline.
Landed 22nd May (mistakenly wrote June)
Not aware of linking PR application to my cic until 12th July.
When I linked it, on the home page it shows Date submitted "12th July" and the next column says Status "Submitted".
So 2 months are over now.
Tried to call Ircc but no satisfactory reply.......................Any suggestions.....

No Problem with non-linking of application to myCIC. You wont be able to track, but that is hardly any help.

Yes. The date that is shown is the date when you linked your application. If you check the complete application (or 'submitted application'; forgot the wordings :( ) inside, it will show the date when you landed. This is the actual date your application has been submitted.

Summer is a very busy time for IRCC, with majority of immigrants landing around this time. Hence the processing times are very different. You should see some updates around the 2months + 2weeks timeframe.

Call 888-242-2100 from inside Canada and follow these options :
1 - 1 - 3 - PRCard application number - Year of Birth - 0 (to talk to agent)
There are some additional steps like pressing '#' after the PRCard App. No., etc., but those will be prompted by the IVRS.
Ask the agent the current status and if there is any Photo Request.

Hope this helps and have lots of patience. There is nothing else we can do except to wait it out. :)

Anyone who got approved on July 20 received their cards yet?
