Hey Guys! I landed on July 6th.
And i am still waiting for my PR card.
I Called CIC and they told me that they have sent the PR card on August 28th.

Does anyone know how long it takes the mail to reach from Nova Scotia to Toronto ?

The card is printed and dispatched from the Canadian Bank Note Company's Ottawa Printing facility, not the CPC Sydney in Nova Scotia. You should confirm with CIC what address it was sent to and then contact Canada Post. If all fails, you'll have to wait for 6 weeks (from Aug 28) before CIC will begin processing a new card for you.

Hi There,

Thank you so much for the response. The address i provided is the correct one.
The problem is that I have to travel to India to attend an family situation in November. Is there anything else that I can do if I dont get the PR card on time ?

Hi,

You can apply for a PRTD from India. More details here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/travel-document/index.asp

Since you are a new PR, the chances of you running into trouble and having to provide residency proof for PRTD are negligible.
