Dear Friends,

I landed at the Rainbow Bridge on October 21, 2016, and have been waiting for my PR card since then. I didn't receive any photo request but got the following email from IRCC/CIC yesterday: ???

"This confirms that your application for your Permanent Resident card has been received by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) on 2016/11/29.

When should I contact CIC? You must notify Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) of any changes to your application. Examples of changes include:

Appointment or change of immigration representative or designated individual;
Decision to withdraw your application;
Change of contact information: e-mail, mailing address, telephone number;
You found your lost PR card - application for replacement is in process, card must be destroyed, replacement application not yet in process.
Changes to your address should be made through our online service at xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

How do I check the status of my application?

You may use your 8-digit Unique Client Identifier (UCI) number located on this correspondence to check the status of your application on the CIC website. Please xxxxxxxxxxxx and in the "Most requested" section on the right-hand side of the page, select "Check your application status".

How long will it take to process my application?

Processing times vary. You can consult the processing times by visiting the CIC website at xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Please be aware that answering e-mails takes time away from processing applications. For this reason, unless your application has exceeded normal processing times, please limit your correspondence to notifying us of changes in your application.

Did anyone receive such email prior to getting the PR card? It is almost 40 days since I did my flag polling ??? ??? ???

Actually, I am not an inland applicant.
I landed in Pearson Toronto Airport

You are still within normal processing time. Expect you card this week or the next.you can also call to check.

Just an update on my side: After many trials I finally was able to talk to a very cooperative agent who thankfully helped me and assured me about my card status.


My card was dispatched on Monday 28 Nov, so I hope it will reach by end of this week or the next week.

Received my card on Wednesday in mailbox in Toronto , was mailed on monday according to a cic officer.

Landing to photo req 30 days
After photos received (xpress mail with tracking) took 21 days to mail by cic (source: cic call agent)
Received in mail box : 3 days

By getting that email from CIC, that is the PROOF that you are now a PR and that they have issued your PR card. All you need now is to LOCATE where your PR card is.....whether it has been sent yet or they are yet to sent but is now produced. To which address?

I am sure your PR card is on the way my buddy.....I have since realised that CIC sends out PR cards on Mondays kkkk in batches......my crew---21 Nov(a Monday), and now someone above here says their card was sent out on 28 November(a Monday).......so its highly likely that yours could be on this 28 November lot! I think the whole week(Tuesday to Sunday) they are busy producing, then every Monday they sit down and sent out the ones for the previous week.

Give it another week my man....am sure its on its way.....and as long as you have gotten that PR email from CIC, that shows you are now a PR and your card has been issued. I just got the same email today.....and I only received my PR card yesterday....so it means they email that to ALL PRs to whom they have issued cards I think?

The card arrived to my mailbox in Toronto on Wednesday, so it took only two days after dispatching.

The card arrived to my mailbox in Toronto on Wednesday, so it took only two days after dispatching.

My timeline:

Landed on 18 October.

Pr card dispatched on 28 November.

Pr card arrived to mailbox on 30 November.

I am a PR from last 3 years almost. I also received the same email and my sister did too she is a one year old PR. My wife landed 2 weeks ago and she also got the same email. We are waiting for her PR card. She has left canada for now but will move here in january. So i hope we get the PR card by january.

Hi Jongwe, thanks for this information buddy! I too received this email today. Hopefully my PR card is printed and shipped. Although my wife called the helpline number couple of days ago and was told that there is a delay of about 2 to 3 weeks in the overall PR card issue process. I landed on October 09, 2016 on Toronto airport and my cards have not be received yet so this confirms that there is some delay. Hopefully since I have got the email, they are now issued and on their way!!

I got the same email again yesterday midnight on my yahoo email. This is a second email in last 3 days. Maybe i will get 2 pr cards any buyers??
