You dont need to wait till the 57 days which was old processing time. Now its 37 days hence call them to see if its mailed out after 37 days of your landing. Possibly its being sent out this week for you as they already started mailing the cards during last week for 5-9 Jul landing.

I just called CIC and the status is that my photos have been sent for card production but the agent said there could still be issues but I will need to wait another 2 -3 weeks if its not mailed out by then. It sounds like it will be ok though

Hey Friends

I have a question , I will be receiving my COPR in one or two days. I wanted to know what will be the validity of that letter for me to do my landing i.e how much time do i get to prepare for landing . I am Inland FSW. Does the validity of COPR depend on the validity of your medicals ?
i am trip planned from Sep 5 to Sep 30.
Please advise..

It's valid til the expiry date of your medicals or passport - whichever comes first (usually medicals)

1 year from medicals date.

Normally. It can differ, I know someone who had about 18 months because the application took close to a year to process.
But it's normally a year; and it's medical submission date too, normally +3-4 days from the actual medical date.

I received a photo retake request a couple of weeks ago. CIC received the new photos last week. Will I now be placed in the back of the PR card processing queue and wait another 40ish days?

Though there are some exceptional cases, it usually takes current processing time again.

Hi, mine took exactly 3 weeks from sending through regular mail to receiving card.

I landed on April 30th 2016 at Toronto Pearson. Called CIC during first week of July (as i was told by immigration i should expect my PR card in 2 months), that's when agent told me they need copy of my Landing stamp in passport. By the end of August it will be 4 months. They didn't bother to me that my application is in pending until i called them, this is really frustrating. I will call them tomorrow morning hoping to get some good news as i have my tickets booked for September 10th :)

Hi all, joining this thread. I landed on 13 August which means hopefully I get my PR card by 13 October. I was told it will take 8 weeks to be posted to me.

Hello everyone,
I got my PR card today. Please see my timeline below:
Date of landing: 6th July, 2016.
I was told at the airport that the processing time for the PR card will take 6 weeks to 2 months or even 3 months. I was not asked to resubmit photos.
PR card dispatched on 13th August, 2016.
PR card received on 17th August, 2016.
My PR card took 37 days (which agrees with the current processing time) to process and 3 business days to get to me after it was dispatched.
Number of days from landing to receiving PR card : 42

Thanks to everyone on this forum. You guys rock. Best wishes to all those still waiting.

Hi All,

I have couple of questions on PR card. I am planning to land in Toronto on 29 September 2016. It will be short landing for two weeks and then land again permanently in March 2017. Now my questions are :

1. We have given photos during PPR. Is the specification same for PR card as well.
2. If its different specifications can someone please share with me the new specifications.
3. Also , while landing if we do have permanent resident address , can we submit new photos at the airport for PR card. are there any provision to take photos in aiport or do we need to carry photos from our country. Please advise.

Thanks in advance

1. Its same. I assume you received ppr this year.
2. No different. For reference www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/pdf/5445EB-e.pdf
3. No photo submission at airport as you might have one photo sticking to your copr which is enough for them. If its under old spec then you need to carry as you can not go out of immigration zone before completing landing hence you need to carry the photo while travelling if you need to submit new one.

@TAHA1111, Thanks for the details. I called in immigration and was lucky to get in touch with a really helpful person. I was clarified that for PR card, the application of my wife and mine are treated independently. So, I can expect the card sooner.

Good luck all!

So, after all the while (landed on 13th June and wife getting a letter to resubmit her photos 2 weeks ago) , today I get a letter from CIC to submit my photos. I am absolutely certain that the initial photos did meet the specs - took it at Walmart photo center and verified it.
I have to travel to India end of this month and I guess I have to apply for travel document.
This really sucks...

I landed on June 29th, Received PR card August 15th! I took photos at Costco and I was never asked to submit new photos.

If someone is traveling back to Canada later, you can ask them to carry your PR card and then you can come back as a PR. TR is an extra step that can certainly be avoided!
