Hi May I know how do you know when did they send the card out? do they email you first?

Thank you and congrats!

Hi Ivle,
Thanks. I called CIC on May 12th to ask about my card's status. As it already crossed the processing period, they checked my profile with client id and told me that my card was sent on 11th.

Hi,

I submitted my photos again, yesterday and I kept a copy of CIC email request & IMM 5455b FORM.
new waiting time starts now.

Were you asked for resubmit ur photo?

No we weren't asked to resubmit our photos. Before sending the passports, we had taken our latest photos for submission.

Hi guys,

I see that some people were requested to re-submit photos after they has already landed and waited months for the PR card.

What is the reason for that ?

I recently renewed my British passport from Canada. The process was actually surprisingly short so you might be okay. I would still request an extension from CIC though just in case.

Here's my timeline for British passport renewal from Feb of this year. After filling out the online info, sent application with documents Feb 17, they were received by the passport office in the UK Feb 24, 2016. I had my new passport in my hands March 2, 2016. This was even with applying from Calgary. They quote 4 weeks from when they receive your application but if you're a straightforward case, I'd imagine the turnaround could be as quick as mine.

Good luck!

Thanks.

Some people had submitted photos before the dimensions changed. Others of us...no idea why.

Is it mandatory to wait for PR card after landing ? Can the PR card be mailed to a relative / friend's address ?

Would it be possible to return to the home country immediately after landing ?

Experts please reply:

Last month I used the COPR document, explained immigration officer and crossed the border by walk to enter to Canada from USA.
Unfortunately, I have all my baggage in my cousin's place and today I am planning to pick-them from Mississippi, USA.
Can I use the same COPR to cross USA border and enter to Canada again?
please help me.

warm regards,

You can cross into Canada via a land border only with your CoPR and passport, there is no need for a PR card. To cross into US, of course you need proper authorization: passport and perhaps visa, depending whether you're from a visa exempt country or not.

Hi,

This should be okay. I have done it with my niece, she stayed for a week after landing, went back home and I just mail her the PR card. She came back after 2 years.

Any March photo resubmission folks still waiting on their PR card?

Landed Jan 19
Resubmitted photos March 17

Was told by IRCC that we have no choice but to wait. Am wondering if others in that general time frame have seen any movement.

Thanks for replying!

To be sure, did they tell you your card was in production?

Reason I'm asking is they replied in a smilar fashion to my CSE i.e. your application is being processed. But, on the phone, I was told there is no indication yet that card is in production and that I would just have to wait.
