Hi all,

I am ready to apply for PR through one of the new policies. I am currently common-law with my partner and have selected my martial status as common-law on my application. I am being asked for her police check and medical exam. She has never lived in a country other than Canada, but these documents are considered required. I've been calling IRCC, but their lines are busy and I'm also not totally convinced this question is "urgent" and I don't want to take their time away from the influx of work they have with the Afghanistan situation.

Does anyone know if we can upload a letter saying she's Canadian instead of getting the medical exam and police check?

Wait, your partner is a Canadian? Born in Canada and never lived anywhere else?

You should be applying alone, not adding their details. Perhaps that's where the issue is?

Oh! So for my martial status on the TR to PR portal, should I say single even though I'm common-law?
You should put in common-law. I am sure there is a way to specify a Canadian partner/spouse on the protal. Just that I am not familiar with it.

There's not :( If I put common-law it automatically populates the requirements and there's no way to indicate anything about her and it prompts for her immigration forms/police and med check
