Tourist visa during the process of sponsoring

Hi There,

I am going to apply for sponsoring my wife from India. I am wondering while she waits for her PR, can she come to Canada on tourist visa? I know she'll have to go back when her PR is ready. Would applying for tourist visa during the sponsorship process affect the sponsorship/PR application? Please let me know if some one has done this or knows about this condition. Thanks in advance,

She can apply but it will be very unlikely that one will be issued. New Delhi will consider it unlikely that she would leave Canada with a sponsorship application in process.

sorry to say,but no,they will not issue a tourist visa.my hubby applied while he was being sponsored and was turned down flat,according to the IO,he did not believe that hubby would go back home;he was told to wait for the completion of sponsorship.
