I agree with Arianne and mead. A lot of students leave India (or their respective countries) without much thought just assuming that life will be better there just because hundreds of other students are. If you think you are not smart enough to get into and IIT (or any other good colleges of India), you won't be smart enough to get into good universities (like UofT, etc) and your condition will be the same. You can't expect better treatment in Canada as there is a high amount of competition in Toronto too (much like India).

So running away from Toronto (to other provinces) coz "its easy out there" is just the same like running away from India just coz you could not get into and IIT or NIT or whatever.

Disclaimer: I'm NOT saying IITs or NITs are the ONLY good colleges in India....there are many many more, I was just giving one example. Same goes for UofT in Canada. The point is whether you choose to decide to face the competition or run away from it.

er india has reservation system, does canada have such systems..... i hv witnessed this system v.well.....my frnd who scored in AIEEE 150000 rank got into NIT n i scored 100000, bt didn't get any....y bcz he had caste certificate..... n i think that is one of reason every1 is leavein india....

completely agree..simple words work hard anywhere you will be rewarded whether it is India US Canada or any other place in this world..
and i am not saying anything against India as even i am an Indian , but don't you guys think working and studying is much easier in western countries rather than India where you don't even have much scope of part time jobs..
well dont take a loan and go and study in a college in canada ..indian education is much more cheaper...but rather work hard in india get experience and earn money for ur education and then go and that to choose a university dont fall pry to consultants who paint a rosy picture.

international education is always expensive no matter which country you go to.. but no everybody is born with a golden spoon.. if somebody's family cannot afford providing international education , taking loan is the only option.. and if you are doing so then you should have that will power, confidence that you will pass through that stage of loan as well, its just how much you are willing to struggle.. if you are used to a life of comfort and luxury and laziness then ofcourse things will never be easy for you especially if you are moving to another country..

work hard in india, get in a company which sends their employees or higher position employees to abroad, you will receive PR even before stepping in canada, go out, settle there (hopefully in canada)

in philippines, there are a lot of people who got PR in this way, they were employees for couple of years (3-4), then they were sent by their employers to abroad to extend their business, upon reaching in canada, they receive condo unit, car, etc..

The problem is that you chose to go to college rather than university. As I've said many times here, diplomas and post graduate diplomas have very low value to employers. I know several Indian students who have been very successful in Toronto. But they all came here and did MBAs.
I completely agree with this assessment of the situation. Also, people should see the IELTS/TOEFL requirements as a guideline and not as a goal. You goal should be getting a score/band close to 100%.

Getting jobs is one thing.. What about PR?
Even with a good job, getting PR still sounds like a struggle..

Who said that to you?? Getting a good job will lead you to PR for sure. There would be no struggle in that.
