According to QS World University Rankings by Subject/Computer Science (2015):

Rank University
#16 University of Toronto (ON)
#24 University of British Columbia (BC)
#24 University of Waterloo (ON)
#50 McGill University (QC)

My personal favorite is uWaterloo for CS based on its brand name, environment, course curriculum/load, co-op program, job prospects and student satisfaction. The other 3 are giant, all-time top 3 of Canada and perhaps good for any subject. But uWaterloo is specialized in engineering, mathematics and computer science.

PS: Just for a reference, MIT (#1), Stanford (#2) and Oxford (#3) are the top 3 in the list.

Hi,

I am completed my B.Tech in computer Science way back in 2006 and from then onward I have been working in a major IT firm in India for last 8 years.I applied for PR last year but it got rejected as I could not prove any LOR printed on company logo as my company HR policy do not have any such provision.
So now I am planning to ho for higher studies (Masters in comp Sc) in canada, then den find a job and ultimately apply for PR.

2 Questions:

1. Will my huge 8 years of IT work experience become a bottle neck while applying for Universities ( I have not decided yet but I have Windsor University in mind as one of my college mate passed out of it few years back) and will 8 years of experience that become a bottle neck while getting jobs ? Generally people go for MS after 2-3 years of work experience and I have almost 9 years of work experience

2. Will my PR application rejection in 2014 have an impact when I will apply for PR after my MS ?

Final thing, which universities ( I have 7.8 CGPS in B.Tech, 66% in Clas12 and 75% in class 10) do you think have a good chance of getting a job offer. I am focusing on universities which has co-op as I believe that will give a better opportunity to secure a job. Correct me if I am wrong
