That's good. Man I'm scared we made a mistake or something, I'm a terrible organizer and I'm always getting confused so I hope I didn't screw it up :)

"10. Mailing the application
CIC asks you to mail the application to the appropriate office for processing. However, it is best to use registered mail, or even better, a courier. This allows you to track the application to ensure it arrives at its destination.
Mail can get lost and you may spend weeks or months wondering why CIC has not acknowledged receipt of your application (and they are always very slow in doing so), only to discover that it never arrived."

Comments like this really piss me off. As if nothing has changed at the Post Office since 1970. Billions or pieces of mail get moved successfully every year. Canada Post offers the same services to expedite and track items at courier companies do at less the cost with a much greater network to do it. All government offices within Canada use Canada Post daily so if it so unreliable then why do they use it? Canada Post is the property of all Canadians and they should have the confidence to use it.

Number 1 reason why mail gets returned....improperly addressed. I see it everyday.

I would not use Canada Post for some destinations in Asia. Even Fedex is better.

Every application is subject to the rules of investigation. In other words it must answer the 6 queries asked in any investigation: Who, What Why , When and How. Legal documents that support these queries followed by photos and witnessed accounts are the best evidence to substantiate your application. Obviously the less you have of these the more you require of other types. While a cover letter may be helpful its content is really covered by the application and supporting evidence itself. I think Immigration officers are trained well enough to know what it is they require to satisfy their decision.

Canada Post does not deliver in Asia. International destinations are taken by DHL or FedEx and then delivered by the Post Office of that country.

Canada Post does not deliver in any other country than Canada. International mailing agreements are made to distribute mail internationally. When you send a parcel from Canada to Morocco Canada Post takes it and then gives it to DHL who then ship it to the postal operations in Morocco who deliver it to the address in Morocco.

So when mail is delayed entering Canada or arriving at a foreign destination delays are caused by Customs and or the postal authority in the foreign nation.

I will have to side with CKG on this one, in 46 years, I have never had a package damaged or lost with Canada post, a couple times miss directed sure, it happens. But with the big three international courier companies, I have had at least one lost package each, and a few damaged packages, one beyond repair or hope. And damned service charges when they knock on the door.

If someone wants a quick service Canada post does provide, expedited courier services as well, I one day'ed our immigration package to Mississauga, with no problems, and received a confirmation and copy of the signers John Henry (signature).

Personally, after experiencing many things lost (PERSONAL things, passports etc) I have no faith in my employer's sorting facilities. (namely Montreal and Ottawa)

Also seen everyday.

As I stated and as stated by the guy running some of the show....."Customers can help limit losses through proper addressing, packaging and ensuring the crucial postal code is there and correct, Jones said."

Items do not get delivered primary due to the human error of the sender. Items can get damaged or destroyed but we are still obligated to deliver it.

People love to reuse boxes that have been sent to them but fail to scratch off other addresses than the one they want it sent to. I have delivered items back to the sender because the only address that was legible was the sender's not the receiver's. People who live in apartments fail to include their unit number assume that the building number is close enough.

As for government mailings they have mailrooms cranking out many items a day and not always do they get things right. Addressed to the right street but wrong city and wrong postal code those items may never be seen or heard from again. I have had many registered letters from CIC and Revenue Canada that have been improperly addressed or people move and do not forward their mail or notify all the parties of their new address.

Hello

How Delhi Canadian Embassy review the files?? Each and every case is unique but there should be some guideline's to deal with the cases. If you can help me I really appreciate to you. As you are practising more than 13 years , You must have ideas.

Thanku very much!!

If they want a cover letter then *ask for* a cover letter. The Government of Canada has spend thousands of man hours and millions of dollars of OUR taxes designing this system. Its completely inexcusable for there to be "unspoken rules" or purposefully misleading directives (although both are common).

Exactly.
