Does any one know what is the current processing time for online Bridge Open Work permit?
My contract ending on 30th Sep and I have closed WP till Feb 2015 and I applied for BOWP on 1st Sept, fingers crossed Sad

If you apply online and fill in the questionnaire, it lets you apply for both at the same time, in the same application.

i am applying only online. which form do you need to fill.

i found IMM5708E for spouse extension. wanted to know if this is the correct form.
Also have few questions on it

Q3. I am applying for one or more of the following - extension of my resident status / restoration of my status as visitor / initial work permit or extension of my trv

Details of WOrk IN CAnada - what should i fill. if i am not filling these questions i am not able to validate my form.

Hey, sorry if this comes across as a stupid question and has been answered before.

Regarding the photo upload for online application. Do you scan in the printed photo (as per the specifications provided already) or do you need to get a digital version of the photograph from a professional passport photo place?

both options that you have mentioned are fine to load the photo for BOWP.

Hi Guys ,

My FSW2 PR is in process and I am planning to apply BOWP now. My Current closed WP expires in 1st week of December . And my wife has an open work permit expiring at same time.

I guess job offfer is not needed for BOWP .


One clarification . Do we need separate Forms each filled for both me and my wife ? This links mentions that .

I am trying to upload my IMM5710 form for BOWP online but it keeps giving me the this message:


Your answer is incomplete. Provide the necessary information below to continue.

To apply for a temporary resident permit, please complete the application on paper and submit it to a CIC office. When applying online, please ensure that the checkbox titled "initial temporary resident permit or extension of temporary resident permit" is not checked on the application form.

Please suggest me what to do!

I think the webpage clearly says that Schedule 1 is optional. You don't have to upload anything.

Dear Guys,

I am applying BOWP in ONLINE, I uploaded all the documents it is asking, in last step 'Do i need to fill that Schedule 1 TRV made outside canada' or shall i remove that document? and go ahead..?

One of the main tips for people looking to apply online is " DON'T START YOUR APPLICATION UNTIL THE DAY YOU HAVE ALL THE PERTINENT INFORMATION ALONG WITH ALL THE DOCUMENTS, AND YOU ARE READY TO SUBMIT IT".

I've been burnt, so please take my advice.

In case you start your application earlier, and you are seeing an error (website not available kind of stuff),then try deleting teh existing application and start a new online application and it should work.
