Tips for 2016 (Future) PGP Applicants

I am sure many of you (like my parents) are in the 2nd medical boat. This is what I did.
I was initially afraid that they may not notice the 2nd medical come PPR time etc, so
1) We uploaded the 2nd e-medical receipt along with RPRF receipt on mycic. Could be a coincidence, but we received the passport request a couple of days after I did this.
2) We enclosed a copy of e-medical receipt along with the passports when we sent them for PPR stamping. We wanted to make sure the IM-1 visa is valid up to the validity of the 2nd medical. This ensures that you can land at your own convenience.

Another popular question; what happens if you had updated your passport after submission but before PPR. Not to worry.
At PPR time send new and old passport.

Could someone, who has received back the passport for PGP2016, tell me as to how long is the validity of immigration visa provided by the CIC to PGP approved candidates? Is it 6 months/1 yr before which the parents have to complete the landing?

Also when did you parents did their medicals?

Yes, that is correct, I received it yesterday morning. Re-medical was requested in Nov 2017 and she completed it in Nov itself. By early Dec 2017, status changed to "Medical passed". After that there is no change in status so far.

Usually the expiry of the visa is the expiry date of the medicals.

So if the medicals are done on 5th July 2017, the visa that will be issued will have expiry date of 4th July 2018.

Guys.

If anyone of you are in a situation, where you have received pre-arrival Letter and ecas status shows "Decision Made" but not in receipt of passport submission request... Then assume this as good sign and wait patiently for few days to get passport submission request. If few days or week) is gone by and if haven't receive passport submission request then I would recommend contacting your visa office through web form and hopefully after that you will get reply from your visa office or passport submission request.

Hi Folks,

Today I received an email subject: Ready for Visa / Prêt pour Visa; it seems like passport request. The email came with an .wmz attachment file and I am not able to open it. Is anyone else facing the same situation?

Wondering if the attachment is for Appendix B that they are requesting to fill-out and send back along with passport. Anyone who got passport request and went through this process, can you please provide your input; is the attachment file something important? or I can simply copy the Appendix B from email body and send it along with passport?

Appreciate your help on this.

I received pre-arrival letter about 3 weeks ago but the background check and medical results are still showing up as processing and review within gckey. Any one knows what the next step is and when one might expect it ? My visa office is NDVO.

when is your Medical expired? you should get request about remedical 1-2 weeks ago
