Tips for 2016 (Future) PGP Applicants

Hello Everyone,

We have an update on my mothers application.
We got confirmation from the bank (TD) that the certified cheque which we provided with the application was presented in bank around 31st March or 1st April 2016 and was cleared.

We still are waiting for any confirmation email from CIC though. Will keep everyone posted to make organized data.

Hey

What's the best time to reach a CIC agent through their 1-888-242-2100 line? I tried calling early in the morning 8:20ish and was told "due to high volume I cannot be connected to an agent". Are they open 8am or something?

Call 1-888-242-2100 and wait for the ivr to read out the initial message about high call volume and choose the menu options accordingly in order to talk to an agent and if the system says "Due to high call volume the call can't be transferred", hang up and redial the number again and again till the system puts you on hold in order to talk to an agent.

Hi, part of the Puralator Group on Monday at 9:43am. Credit card was charged on Friday I think and the transaction posted as of April 5th on my statement. So if you are in this batch still looks like they are potentially processing payments this week.

I don't know they already charged Jan 5th applications and now all of sudden Jan 4th 9:43am batch? doesn't make sense what's going on in there lol

Pamma97 your application is accepted right? Maybe CIC have problems on DD payments that is why if DD payments fails they have a bunch of reserved applications. So for those application that is not yet returned they still have a chance.

Long way to go for this year's applicants...probably another 2-3 years based on analysis that was done in the past by few of our friends...you have to go approx 10-15 pages back to find the information...

I'm asking since I read in 2014 & 2015 threads that people start to get request for the latest Option C, and someone from 2014 has reported sponsorship approval even.

So I wonder whether this means cic is done with the backlog.

As per my last analysis, the first 5K application from 2016 should see sponsorship approval next year and visa issued by the end of 2018. Of course I can be wrong but so far 2014 applications are moving as per my expectation (in fact some of them a few months faster I must say) and I think almost all of them should see visa getting issued by the end of 2017. If all of the 2014 applications get sponsorship approval and transferred to LVO by the end of 2016, I am quite confident that my estimates are quite correct. So far, 2014 application progress is making me quite comfortable with my estimates.

How we can check if ECAS got activated or not?

I understand we need to put values in all fields to check ecas status i.e Identification Number:

Could anyone guide me what option we need to select for Identification type if CC got charged but not received any confirmation for the application yet?

CC Charged on: 07 Feb 2016

As per my understanding, we should have any Identification number to check it online.However, I can see few members are able to see ECAS status even though they have not received any AOR

Are they misleading or I am not sure how they are able to see the status

any comments?

I think...if you are representing your parents...then you can provide your UCI number (Client ID Number) and look for the application. Mine is not yet showing up when I give...so probably they are yet to activate my ECAS for my parents.

If you have received your AOR, then you can provide that too and check...else UCI would work too...it should be in your Canadian Visa...at the bottom right...
