Saturday, but checked at night so not sure the time. Even I can not see the transaction but 700 CAD credit limit deducted.

I guess you're Jan 4 10:47 AM batch of Canada Post. None reported payment being charged or application returned from 10:47 batch. It's most likely that 10:47 delivery time-stamp by CanadaPost is not even close to the actual delivery time (saying it from past experience).

as I updated earlier my card was charged on 12 Mar 2016, I called the card customer care, and found CIC charged on 12th Mar at 8:21 am i.e. on Saturday.

Lets Stay positive ...Do not think there would be alot of Canada Post apps...and Fedex charging is probably mostly done as CIC started chraging Canada Post now...Just my 2 cents...all speculation though

Credit card just charged. UPS Jan 4th. My credit card was lost and I contacted CIC to send them the new card info and it worked. Thanks everyone.
