Tips for 2016 (Future) PGP Applicants

My PGP application was delivered on Jan 4th 2016 by Purolator and signed by Tammy on 9:43 AM. Up to now I did not see my credit card was charged. I just wonder if it makes a sense?

There are 48 applications from this forum who had same time-stamp by Purolator. None of them got charged yet.

Rossie, u have seen this process last year as well - Wasn't the last reported cc charge around Jan 29th, and ecas activation/ AORs started arriving in March ? This year we are already seeing ecas updates in January - just wondering what your guess is in terms of app numbers - are we still within 5k or past that. I know we are all guessing here but just curious to get your perspective....

- We had tons of CC charges in the last week of Jan (26th - 30th). Only 3 people reported CC charges in Feb.
- We had mass email AOR sent to us around Mar 21st - 23rd. Only handful of people had their E-CAS active in Feb (before they got email AOR).

This year it's even crazier. As if everyone listened to me when I said get your application at CPC-M within the first 2 hours. Anyway, since you asked, I think 5K is full (I will be more than happy if I'm wrong). CPC-M is waiting for a green signal from the Govt. for next 5K to charge. :-X

Hi Rossei, Could you help me understand the difference between E-CAS and AOR, I just checked E-CAS it shows "Application Received "

BTW, as I prepaid fees through CIC online " Pay Your Fees " and submitted BOTH "Fee Payment Form" and printout receipt ( Barcode ) in application package ( same payer's info ). Now It looked like that CIC just used/accepted the printout receipt without charging my CC twice.

You are correct.. It is getting crazier by the year. People have already started a thread for 2017; it is very likely that next year every one will rush to the local couriers and first 2 hours would be crucial . Happy road express had 700 apps this year - I won't be surprised if that number grows 3 fold next year. I would be buying local courier stock if they had one

My application for my parents and in-laws was received jan 4 6:31am by adusei via ups until now no cc charge yet. Thinking my application got issues or cap is full. Crossing my finger...

FYI - it's impossible that your application was received at 6:31am. CIC didn't start accepting applications until 8am. The UPS time stamp is wrong.

ECAS is cic's portal to log the progress/status of your application throughout its lifecycle. AOR or 'acknowledgement of receipt' is the formal communication from CIC Confirming the receipt of your application; sent by email or snail mail. AOR will have your file number for future reference. For practical purposes when ecas is updated to 'application received' it can be considered as a tacit sign from CIC that they have filed your application. Now just wait for them to send you the file num i.e. the AOR

I know but thats what UPS put in their tracking. And i think there are some in this forum got the same time also receive by adusei
