I dono certified chqs, but RBC bank draft is traceable.

Don't believe CIC accepts bank drafts. Only certified cheques or credit cards as two form of payments as listed on website. I think the only reason they accepts these two payments is that they both contain proof of residing in Canada. Whereas bank draft doesn't. Anyone can walk into a bank and get a bank draft.

The website does say "other forms of payment will not be accepted".

Under Incorrect fee payment heading, it says "fees are not paid by certified cheque or credit card".

Screech339, I didn't find your name in the spreadsheet. Which courier did you use and when was your app received by CIC?

What does that got to do with it? I am only pointing out the possible problem one can get into one using bank draft instead of certified cheque. I didn't make the rules. CIC did.

Nothing. Just asking.

I haven't submitted my application this year. But with my wife's parents in another country and she would like her parents to get PR someday, I would like to be prepared for it. So I can avoid the same mistakes people makes. In the meantime, I can help others so they don't make their mistakes either.

Gotcha!

Did you use Dealmade Express?
If YES, then I can make the change in the SS.
If NO, then you don't have to share (totally up to you).

Didn't use dealmade express.. I used a local company named Fast Friends Couriers (not recommended)

I am an active member on the PGP threads so that I can not only contribute to the thread but also learn the inside tricks, mistakes made so that when the time comes to send my PGP, I'll be prepared.

That's not lurking, that's being proactive and being smart.

BTW: I will wholly admit, along with my wife, that I would like my wife's parents to get PR so that they can get on Canada health care for free, on everyone else's dime (they won't be working so no taxes paid). Just because I admitted this, doesn't make it's right.

Good that you admit this, applause to you. However, don't generalize your intentions to everyone else. Everyone has their own reasons for bringing their parents here. Another advice, people in this forum help and give words of encouragement to each other, so please tone down your pretentiousness.

I agree that I shouldn't generalize it to apply to everyone, 100%. But that doesn't change the fact a majority, probably closer to 80-90% of the sponsors like PGP, for this reason. While they won't admit it out loud, they use "I want my parents to see their grandchild".

Same goes for the popularity of French immersion program. They say they want "better opportunities" for their kids, when they really mean, "I want only smart kids in the classroom without other kids disrupting / taking up teacher's resources away".
