Does Anyone has an idea when would the credit card gets charged if the application is received?

Hi Guys,

Please inlude me in this roller coast journey as well. I used the local courier company and I just got the confirmation via waybill that the package has been delivered but way bill only shows the date stamp nothing else.

The courier company rep mentioned the delivery time 9:20am.

But this will be unfair for a person who not lucky with lottery??? he applies every year on time and never gets a chance???

I think what cic is doing is right but the way they are doing is wrong.

What they should do is make an online system for applying.

Whoever apply after 8am online until the cap is reached. no need for these stupid courier companies and no need tp rely on anyone. only person you will blame will be you. Everyone will have fair chance Toronto or BC doesn't matter.

good suggestion.. because as of now only couriers are making money.. Imagine a guy with 500 apps charging $100 for each...that's 50000 cash in just hours..(tax free I assume)

In this case anyone with a slow internet connection will have no chance to apply, not to mention the CIC servers would probably crash with tens of thousands of people trying to upload their apps at the same time.

I personally think cic will accept every packet today and then stop accepting tomorrow..they wont deny anything today in my opinion...

But I did do my application on time and paid a courier company, that I mistakenly trusted, to get my application there by 9am EST.

If they did an online system, you would run into the issue of the servers crashing when 10,000 people try to submit their applications at one time.

Slow internet is your problem you need to fix this if you are serious and also its just not the first system which cannot handle lot of apps at the same time. technology has gone far now.

They won't deny any packages - even the ones sent well after the cap has been reached. CIC will accept all deliveries and then return applications that didn't make the cap at a later date by regular mail. Last year I believe people started receiving returned packages in March.

Technically you could have send a parent sponsorship application in May and it would have been delivered. Of course it would have been later returned unprocessed.

Ok guys, A little hopeful ! Just called Purolator and asked about my package again. They said that driver confirmed it was delivered prior to 9 AM today but he had 700 packages so he has not updated the tracker. Now, I am not sure if she means mine was for sure delivered in particular or just that all 700 packages were delivered but I think I see the ray of sun.
